I have been with the RAA roadside service for 58 years and have always been extremely satisfied with the service. However recently my car broke down at home. I am 167 kms from the Adelaide CBD and my car could not be repaired locally. Subsequently my car was picked up by a tow truck and taken to Adelaide for repair. It took over a week for it to be booked in and I was told that it would be fine. No mention was made of further cost above my premium roadside assist. However on the day of pickup I was charged $480 by the tow truck company. My enquiries with the RAA resulted in them affirming the extra cost.
