I just came to say a big thank you Excel Drive. Not only are they great people who are willing to help, but they also have excellent instructors who make you feel comfortable behind the wheel. I was in a desperate situation as I had a driving test booked in four days, but my previous instructor left Australia without any notification, and I didn't know what to do. I called the first school I found on Google, which was Excel Drive. Bianca made me feel at ease immediately and made several calls right away to help me. In the end, she found an instructor who gave me an additional lesson on his weekend and also accompanied me to the test. I am beyond grateful to have had Dmitri as my driving instructor! Two stars cause my husband and I got a class arranged in the last hour, very close to the end of the year. That was nice. The instructor that I got was not a terrible person, however he needs to improve his approach. Starting by stop showing videos on his phone while we drive! Also, he needs to follow the booking time as well, not getting at your place 20 min earlier. I believe I have failed my test because of him. I did 3 lessons before the test and I was doing everything right and calm (I am not a leaner, just converting my overseas licence). 5 min into the test , in a give way crossover, he stepped the break before I could, failing me right away. It is very frustrating cause we spent so much money and time in this process and, I need the car to work. I wish I have my money back! So, I am not very happy right now. Quick update: After failing the first test I changed instructors. Narcisse Kader (RACV) was my choice. She is AMAZING!!! After 3 lessons with her I passed my drive test. After her lessons I could really see how bad was the experience with Jack at Excel Drive. She took me ALL possible routes and corrected every single mistakes. In addiction to that she is an amazing motivational counselor, cheering me up when I needed. She was essential to passing my test. So, I strongly recommend her and not Jack from Excel Drive! Our daughter had driving lessons with Lee after we cancelled a horrific local driving school , her confidence was shattered, she was scared to be behind the wheel , a huge ,huge thank you to Lee from excel , he showed her understanding , compassion and so much patience, he truly cared on how she drives , and helped her become so confident , we cannot thank you enough Lee. My Excel Drive instructor was Sam Georgiou, he was my third instructor in a period of 6 months, although I have had lessons on and off since I was in my early 20's. I suppose I was a difficult student or my previous instructors were just not the right fit. Immediately after having lessons with Sam, I felt encouraged, confident and ready to take my test. We only had a handful of lessons together but his professionalism and high level of experience had me taking my test in no time. Highly recommend Excel Drive's Andy Coleman as an instructor who gave me the confidence to pass my test in Victoria. Always patient even when answering the smallest questions. His calm nature made me feel at ease in the lead up to the test. I just got my License. And I really appreciate the guidance from my instructor - Dave. He is an awsome guy and I really enjoyed the time driving with him. I won't forget those times when he gave me instructions, which reminded me some fantastic scenes in English movies. Also, he gave me many support, which were very useful. My instructor, Robert Garard, is great. I have an oversea licence and needed an SA driver's licence so I booked in with Robert before the practical driving test. I've continued booking lessons with him until I feel I am comfortable to do the test and I passed the test on my first go. Robert is very professional and patient and he will tell you all the points you need to watch out for and go through all the slow speed maneuvor with you again and again until you get it. On test day, he actually picked you up much earlier so he can go through everything with you again before the test and help you familiarise yourself with the area and streets the test might be on. I had previously had a bad experience with an instructor who shattered my confidence and made me really unwilling to get back behind the wheel of a car. I decided to bite the bullet and I was given Melissa as my instructor, and as soon as I met her, I felt comfortable. Melissa is so friendly and helpful but most importantly, patient and understanding. She gave me the skills and confidence I needed to pass my test on the first go!
