Cameron Drive Education is one of many schools in Edmonton. Obviously I could only choose one. After I got information back from friends and colleges they all recommended Cameron as the most professional Driving Education School for class 1 and 3 in the city. I started the top of Dec 2025. I'm 55 years old that hasn't been in school for 30 years so yes I was a bit intimidated. Here is some bullets point I took away after passing and receiving class 1 in late Jan 2026. 1) Obviously when you are signing up you need to be walked through all the paper work and grants you need to deal with. Ashe and crew were very helpful and knowledgeable. Throughout the course that is your goto for any issues and appointments. They keep in contact with for your availability for sessions. VERY HELPFUL. 2) Where do I start with the instructors? Well I could be here for days explaining but the short of it is...THEIR THE BEST. They all have different personalities and you will be with them all till you find the personality that matches yours then you have the opportunity to request the one that fits you for the rest of the way. If not you can keep rotating through them. They are all great. As the content is the same they all have their own little tips on how to follow pretrip procedures their way. So I recommend being with all of them at the beginning to make the learning the procedures as fluid with the most guidance. 3) While you are learning all the pretrip you will start driving the trucks with them. Remember this is serious stuff you could injure some very easily with these trucks. The instructors will be tough on you. THEY HAVE TO BE. So if you are sensitive you better convince yourself it's for your safety and others. Don't get me wrong they are ALL great people with big hearts but sometime when push comes to shove they are there to make you better and safe in the trucks The provincial examiners will not put up with Unconfident people cause that's when accidents happen . You can't go into your exam doubting. If so the instructors will get you there. So the crew at Cameron again will push you cause you need it. And I thank all of them for doing it hence me being able to pass on my first time. I want to personally thank. Ashe in the office. She is " The gate Keeper" and is good at it. Robin "The Polisher" for helping me polish my pretrip to make it work for me. I'm so thankful for you. Buck "The Dragon" you want him as your driving instructor. He will push you and push you to learn all the driving techniques you need. Hence the nickname. He is there to make you safe and pass. FYI those names came from me. Worst place u can go they are not the worst experience i ever had go to capilano they way better and actually teach u to drive and not just take ur money they work with u unlike cameron! !!!!!!!!!!!! Class Act Management! I came off the street to complete my training for a Class 3 licence and their staff worked with me and found me the best deal based on my experience driving large double axle trucks in the field. I am happy with my experience with Cameron even though something went wrong in my initial evaluation. But when I talked to management they quickly rectified the problem and went above and beyond! The people at Cameron delivered upon their offering to help me become a licensed Class 3 driver. I was helped to understand and complete the funding process via Alberta Works, taught the details required to pass my Air Brakes exam and taught how to drive a Truck. The Instructors were very experienced and patient and allowed me to progress through everything from the Pre Trip to Shifting to Driving.
