I bought the road test package for $2098.49. I called them many times to try to get a hold of them and register. After many attempts, I was able to get the road test booked with them as there is only one instructor in Richmond who does not work on Mondays and starts work at 10 am. During my road lessons, the instructor only took me to park nearby and asked me to drive there for 1.5 hours. Since he was tired and lazy, he did not want to take me on the road. He was just sitting in the car and the lessons did not help me at all. He should have taken me to test areas in Richmond, not in the playground during the entire road lesson. My road test was coming soon and if it continued like it was, I would fail the road test. So, I called them and asked for a different driving instructor, but they told me that I should go to Burnaby or Vancouver as there was only one instructor in Richmond. Why would I go to another city when the road test is in Richmond? All they care about is money and not the student's success. Therefore, I asked them for a refund. But they did not refund me the money for the lessons which did not help me. They also took a $400 admin fee plus tax, saying it was their policy. Your policy should be to help students succeed, not take their money for no reason. Although I have not finished the e-learning class, I told them that I would pay for the class but would like a refund for the rest of my money, but they refused. First, it was their fault for providing me with an instructor who was no help, and second for not accommodating my request by providing me with another instructor. I wanted to get my license this fall but because of their poor service, my road test is now cancelled. They caused me harm and did not refund me my money for all the inconvenience they caused me. I contacted them many times via email and phone, but they only care about the money, not helping students to succeed. YD you should refund me, I should not be charged for the road lesson that did not help me and $400 admin is insane, and not fair. If you continue treating your students like this, you will lose students. Read Less

My husband gave me a driving lesson for my birthday gift,he paid a lot!he purchased it around may but my lesson was not till November because they don’t have instructors in Richmond, only one instructor. my lessons were at night because he was fully booked and can’t choose the time slot so I went with it because I don’t wanna let my husband down and have the hassle to do all the refund and stuff.I was practicing at the same area every lesson,he didn’t take me somewhere closer where the testing cntre. I think the instructor is burnt out already when he was teaching me at 8pm because he had lessons during the day from 9am till 10pm.I mention it to him that he haven’t taken me where the testing Cntre and he just said “I’ve never taken you there?” Like NO it’s always the same area where Minoru and Granville. I learned some few things from him but other than that I would not recommend young drivers. Read Less

Quick warning: the Richmond location only has one driving instructor and is fully booked until the new year. I found out about this after being on hold to book an in-car lesson for over an hour. It turns out there is an estimated 6-7 months wait for in-car lessons, and they only mentioned this in ONE line in ONE email long after I paid $1900 PLUS tax. In that same email, they say their program is "designed to take 5 to 7 months to allow time to practice with the co-driver." Why are they accepting new students if they cannot accommodate them within their own given time frame? Furthermore, you need to call their national line for everything: book in-car lessons, reschedule, and register under a payment plan. It isn't easy to contact your local YD branch directly. Given this, there was always a long wait time to speak to someone. I also encountered issues every other time I tried to log into my account because of a CAPTCHA error on their end. Then, they sent me the wrong registration code when I tried to sign up for their CogniFit program, so I had to contact support yet again. All these issues I encountered before my lessons even started convinced me I needed a refund. I feel it's reasonable to expect smooth sailing when paying premium prices for driver's ed. I'm guessing a lot of their current backlogging issues are COVID-19 related. 2 stars since they gave me a full refund, the people I talked to over the phone were very understanding, and the tech support department replied to my emails relatively quick. Still, I wouldn't recommend them for now. Read Less
