Great experience with DME! Following another review, the driving instructor can seem on edge but it’s only because you do need to follow certain protocols to pass your exam. Keeping the speed is a big must, shoulder checks & watching out for pedestrians but most of all watching for sign when doing left or right turns. He points out what your doing wrong so you can do better the next session. When he is quiet and just talking then you are doing something right is the feeling he gave me & by the end of it I got a congrats for doing better. It’s about understanding and listening. I applied for DME 2 weeks before my drivers exam & my instructor Bharat was amazing with his teachings. If you were to ask me, “Would you recommend DME driving school to anyone?” My answer would be absolutely not. I purchased the ‘Starter Pack’ which cost me $815.00 without tax. And to say I am unimpressed with what my money got me would be an underestimation. To start what they consider to be an ‘online class’ is very different from what I am used to. I was expecting maybe an online class call or perhaps modules to complete. Instead I was given worksheets to complete independently. This would not have been an issue if I would have been provided or pointed to resources to help answer the worksheets, instead I was told that it was to be completed independently using my own resources (google). This perhaps may not have been a problem if they included in their website a description of what the online work would include. Unfortunately the on the road learning portion did not fair much better than the online class. The professionalism of the DME driving school instructor is quite frankly astounding in the way that they are lacking it. Throughout the lessons the instructor would be snaking and making loud sighs. They had no problem pointing out what I was doing wrong but never told me what I did right. They had notified me 30 minutes before a lesson that it was canceled and needed to be rescheduled. Prior to the start of the lesson, they directed me towards a gas station to fill up the tank. Why could this not be done before? Or perhaps make this a learning opportunity for me, but they did not. However the biggest flaw with school in my opinion is how they cut your time short. Continuously I was dropped off at home 10 minutes before the end of my lesson, not allowing me to get my money’s worth of behind the wheel time. Additionally, half way through each lesson, I would be directed to park in front of a fast food place, either Domino's, Tim Hortons or A&W. Once parked I was told we were having a 5 minute break and they would go in while I was left in the vehicle. There was only 1 time they took 5 minutes, the other times they went over with the longest being 16 minutes. Thus to whoever is reading and thinking of attending DME Driving school, my advice would be to not. Save your money. Go to a driving school that will actually help you learn and not rip you off.
