Nick and Fred are both awesome—super friendly and professional. First off, Fred is fluent in both English and Chinese, so if your English isn't great, you really don't need to worry about communication. He'll even talk to the examiner for you if there's any language issue. I've been driving for over 10 years, and I got my full license in just five days—only two lessons and passed the road test. For those of us who learned to drive back in China, Fred doesn't just tell you you're doing everything wrong. He points out the key differences between Chinese driving habits and the Canadian test standards—like right-of-way rules and when/how hard to do shoulder checks. A few practices and you'll retrain your muscle memory pretty quickly. Super efficient. On the first lesson, Fred takes you through the test routes, spots your weak points, gives you targeted feedback, and shows you exactly how to do it right. He's also really good at calming you down before the test. He'll go over a few key reminders in Chinese, and just hearing that makes you feel way more at ease. When you're not nervous, you drive way better. Even though road test slots in Halifax are crazy hard to get, Fred got one for me pretty fast. And he never tried to push any extra lessons on me. Oh, and one more thing—he never asked me to leave a good review, which says a lot. So yeah, if you're in Halifax and looking for a driving instructor who speaks your language, teaches efficiently, doesn't waste your time or money, and doesn't play any games—Fred is your guy.
