My experience with Examiner Eric (575) was extremely disappointing and upsetting.
From the moment my test began, his attitude towards me was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. I asked one simple question, and instead of responding politely, he answered with an impatient and disrespectful tone that immediately made me feel uncomfortable.
Before my test, I observed him interacting with two other candidates in a noticeably friendlier and more relaxed manner. They were treated with smiles, patience, and courtesy. My experience was completely different. The contrast in his behaviour left me feeling singled out and wondering whether I was treated differently because of my BROWN SKIN.
He is a racist…
I understand that driving tests are meant to be strict, and I accept responsibility for my mistakes. My concern is not that I failed—it is that I did not feel I was treated with the same level of respect and professionalism that I witnessed other candidates receiving.
Every candidate deserves an impartial, respectful, and professional examination regardless of their race or background. I sincerely hope DriveTest investigates this matter and ensures that all applicants are treated fairly and equally.
Worst driving centre.. I feel they deliberately fail so that they can earn another book test fee.

I had a wonderful experience taking my G test at the Oakville location today. The entire process was smooth, and the staff at the front counter were incredibly polite, helpful, and efficient at check-in.
I especially want to recognize my examiner, Neil. He is truly a wonderful, calming human being. He took the time to completely calm my nerves before we even started the car. On top of being an amazing examiner, Neil also shared some very dear life advice with me during our time together that I will truly carry with me. His gentle approach, wisdom, and reassuring attitude turned a stressful test into an incredibly meaningful experience. If you get Neil, you are in amazing hands! Thank you to the whole team, and a massive thank you to Neil.

I would have given five stars if the customer service at the office counter had been as great as the examiner's. I passed my G test on a rainy day. The QEW was terribly crowded, and most cars were driving below the speed limit. Merging was quite difficult, but the examiner was a nice older gentleman who was very soft-spoken and kind (unfortunately, I forgot his name).
They took me onto the highway twice, but about 75% of the test focused on basic rules and regulations, safety, and general driving skills.
I know many friends who have been driving on highways for more than five years but still failed their G test on their first attempt. Luckily, I passed both my G2 and G tests on my first try (my G2 test was in Oshawa).
The attached photo shows the spot number that you need to enter into the machine. I was initially confused because there are several alphanumeric numbers on each signboard.

The g test examiner i had needs to lose his right to test people. it started with him being late, then him arguing with me about how to pronounce my own name.. i've known my name for my entire life I think Id know how to pronounce my own name. Also he said we couldn't start until my dashcam was turnt off. there is no ontario regulation that an exterior dashcam with no audio and no interior visuals has to be turnt off. his negligence wasted another 5 mins. he was rude the entire time. he told me that he can't see my eyes, so i must use my head to show i am looking at blindspots, mirrors, etc, later at the end he proceeded to say he didn't see my eyes move. well how could you when you first stated at the start that you can't see my eyes so you need to rely on my head??? then he proceeds to let me know i mainly failed because i entered the qew at 70km/h when there was 4 massive long trucks blocking my way into entrance at 100, considerng the fact the highway also wasn't even going 100. he claimed it was safer to do over 100km/h and cut off and brake check the truck drivers going 60km/he instead of patiently and safely waiting to merge on with the speed flow of traffic. do not recommend this location and this examiner needs his license removed.

I just passed my G licence with Louis as my instructor on the first try, I was so nervous but he immediately put me at ease when he got in the car. He reassured me that it was normal to be nervous but to just do my best, and instructed me to exaggerated my movements (i.e. move my head instead of just my eyes when looking around) and I would be fine. He gave calm and clear instructions, and constructive feedback once the road test was over.
The woman at the desk was also lovely and very respectful of the fact that I still have to wear a mask in 2026 :)
The only issue to warn about is the parking lot, I had to drive around for 15 minutes before a drive test parking spot was available so get to the location early before your road test

By far the worst place I've ever been too. After my 5 hour wait I finally got to do my test and when I submitted it and I was told to wait.. so wait I did and after 45 minutes I finally go back up and ask are you done marking my test. Which they reply with what test we don't have yours. I told them I handed it in they didn't believe me they blamed it on me said I lost it and was just sitting here and wasting their time. Of course after about an hour they found it underneath the chair.
A separate time we went there they gave us a number to let us know our spot in line however when our number was finally called a couple of hours later they wouldn't serve us because we lost our number. We lost that little tiny piece of paper with her number on it which there is no sign that says hold on to it or that this is important in any way when I was here before it wasn't required. so they wouldn't let me in.

It has been nearly 5 months, I have called several times and nobody answers the phone. I don't live near this place, but I guess I'll be driving out there to reschedule.

After running into problems exchanging my license from the USA and being turned away after a long wait, I sent an email asking for extra assistance from DriveTest and was very happy with how things unfolded after that. The manager of the Oakville location reached out to me right away and I was able to go in and meet with her directly without having to wait again or take a number. Great customer service, they were really understanding and willing to help me out as long as I did my part (which I did). Thanks!

Writing my G2 test was fine...but I had to go back to renew my licence. I was confused about the ticket process and grabbed more than 1. To be kind I let them know I have more than one ticket so they dont wait - this lady lost her mind at me for letting her know. Also they "lost" my paperwork and I had to wait 8 MONTHS for them to figure out what was going on and get me my licence.

So far we've waited for 4 hours with no signs of having our number called. I should've built a better version of DriveTest and helped everyone in line while I waited in line. Do not come here unless you have an entire day to waste in the most boring way imaginable. Bring food, a phone charger, maybe even a change of clothes.

Went there this week and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and quick service, especially after reading all the negative reviews. From Registration till leaving the centre, I interacted with 3 counter staff and 1 examiner, all of them were courteous and helpful.
A special mention for the examiner, through his friendly demeanor helped calm my nerves as I drove through a torrential downpour. Yes the wait times are long, but I think its unfair to blame the staff, each one of them was doing their best to manage the crowd.

While I agree with many of the reviews regarding the long wait times, I must say that the staff deserve 5 stars. I had missed my turn by ONE person and the staff were kind to direct me to a line where I can be assisted - this saved me from taking a new ticket number and waiting for another 2 hours! Shoutout to Ashley for being so kind and understanding - Thank you!

Abysmal setup. Poor signage. Willfully ignorant staff. An alphanumeric ticket system that makes it impossible to calculate your wait time (3 hours and counting now). Seats for less than half the people in here. Nowhere near the amount of parking required. Most of the kiosks don't work. Other than that, it's simply an awful way to spend a day. Bring sustenance.

Terrible. They don't answer the phone (I tried 16 times this morning) so you are forced to actually go there to even have a question answered. The wait times are horrendous. Place is packed. No parking. Lines move extremely slow. Plan to be there all day. If they would answer the phone they could probably save themselves a lot of grief in person. Go somewhere else if you can.

After three failed attempts to even get in the door at the Brampton centre, I took a day off work, pulled my son out of school, and drove to Orangeville to take his G1 test. We arrived shortly before noon and were told it would be a three hour wait. They would not allow us in the building to get a ticket with a number, because there were so many people inside they were over fire code. We waited outside in the cold for THREE HOURS without getting a ticket. When I went in to ask, I was yelled at!

My experience with Examiner Eric (575) was extremely disappointing and upsetting.
From the moment my test began, his attitude towards me was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. I asked one simple question, and instead of responding politely, he answered with an impatient and disrespectful tone that immediately made me feel uncomfortable.

I had a wonderful experience taking my G test at the Oakville location today. The entire process was smooth, and the staff at the front counter were incredibly polite, helpful, and efficient at check-in.
I especially want to recognize my examiner, Neil. He is truly a wonderful, calming human being. He took the time to completely calm my nerves before we even started the car. On top of being an amazing examiner, Neil also shared some very dear life advice with me during our time together that I will truly carry with me. His gentle approach, wisdom, and reassuring attitude turned a stressful test into an incredibly meaningful experience. If you get Neil, you are in amazing hands! I would have given five stars if the customer service at the office counter had been as great as the examiner's. I passed my G test on a rainy day. The QEW was terribly crowded, and most cars were driving below the speed limit. Merging was quite difficult, but the examiner was a nice older gentleman who was very soft-spoken and kind (unfortunately, I forgot his name).

I just passed my G licence with Louis as my instructor on the first try, I was so nervous but he immediately put me at ease when he got in the car. He reassured me that it was normal to be nervous but to just do my best, and instructed me to exaggerated my movements (i.e. move my head instead of just my eyes when looking around) and I would be fine. He gave calm and clear instructions, and constructive feedback once the road test was over.
The woman at the desk was also lovely and very respectful of the fact that I still have to wear a mask in 2026 :)

By far the worst place I've ever been too. After my 5 hour wait I finally got to do my test and when I submitted it and I was told to wait.. so wait I did and after 45 minutes I finally go back up and ask are you done marking my test. Which they reply with what test we don't have yours. I told them I handed it in they didn't believe me they blamed it on me said I lost it and was just sitting here and wasting their time. Of course after about an hour they found it underneath the chair.

After running into problems exchanging my license from the USA and being turned away after a long wait, I sent an email asking for extra assistance from DriveTest and was very happy with how things unfolded after that. The manager of the Oakville location reached out to me right away and I was able to go in and meet with her directly without having to wait again or take a number. Great customer service, they were really understanding and willing to help me out as long as I did my part (which I did). Thanks!

Went there this week and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and quick service, especially after reading all the negative reviews. From Registration till leaving the centre, I interacted with 3 counter staff and 1 examiner, all of them were courteous and helpful.

I had missed my turn by ONE person and the staff were kind to direct me to a line where I can be assisted - this saved me from taking a new ticket number and waiting for another 2 hours! Seats for less than half the people in here. Nowhere near the amount of parking required. Most of the kiosks don't work. Other than that, it's simply an awful way to spend a day. Bring sustenance.

After three failed attempts to even get in the door at the Brampton centre, I took a day off work, pulled my son out of school, and drove to Orangeville to take his G1 test. We arrived shortly before noon and were told it would be a three hour wait. They would not allow us in the building to get a ticket with a number, because there were so many people inside they were over fire code. We waited outside in the cold for THREE HOURS without getting a ticket. When I went in to ask, I was yelled at!
