Staff was very nice. Just a headsup for other drivers doing the m2 test. For Ontario’s motorcycle exit test, the cones are set in pairs one metre apart, and each pair is 4.5 metres apart from the centre of the cone. These definitely weren't the spacings used and it was tighter. Also the course is on sloped pavement which makes the course even more difficult to navigate on a larger bike with longer wheel base. While I did pass I ended up asking another test subject if I could use their bike beforey third attempt. Read Less

Leaving a review for anyone like me who was scared by all the 1-star reviews. Did my G test here recently and it was fine. I think I even had the examiner whom people have complained about most here—she didn’t introduce herself, but she matched the physical description—and I obviously can’t speak to anyone else’s experience, but she was…normal. We said hello, she recited the same thing all of the examiners have to tell you (“you will not be asked to drive in a way that contradicts the law,” etc.), and we did the test. Apparently, it only took 14 minutes altogether (but we took the exit to Coldwater, which is the shorter variation). She gave her instructions with minimal intonation and I only spoke to confirm that I heard her, and one other time to fiddle with the AC since she mentioned she felt warm. Again, I don’t know what she’s like with other people, but at least with me, she was polite, if laconic. But, like, the examiners see/meet a new driver every 20 or 30 minutes, and they do it every single day, for years on end. You just meet too many people to make conversation with all of them, unless you’re an exceptional social butterfly. The examiners are just there to evaluate you—you don’t walk into a written exam and try to make friends with the paper. She was polite, we barely talked, and the test was over quickly. No notes, five stars. Read Less

I normally do not leave reviews, but after today’s experience at the Midland DriveTest Centre, I feel I need to speak honestly. I arrived early, checked in at the kiosk with my license, and waited in the parking lot with my driving instructor. When the examiner approached my vehicle, she asked for my license again, despite already entering it into the kiosk system. I had to dig through my purse to retrieve my wallet and locate it. During that process, she walked away from my vehicle and back into the building without explanation. My driving instructor actually had to go back inside to retrieve her. That interaction immediately made me extremely anxious and uncomfortable. I already struggle with test anxiety, and the way the situation was handled caused me to begin shaking before the test had even started. Once inside the vehicle, the examiner was abrupt and difficult to hear clearly. Instructions were given rapidly one after another with very little time to process. The entire experience felt rushed and tense rather than professional or calming for someone taking a driving examination. Despite this, I completed the road test and received a score of 48/50. My evaluation itself showed that the majority of my driving habits, scanning, hazard awareness, spacing, observation, and vehicle handling were successful. The issues marked were mostly minor maneuver and hesitation-related concerns. One of the key issues involved turning back into the DriveTest area near what was apparently considered a two-lane section. However, the roadway markings were extremely unclear and worn, with little visible paint indicating lane separation. I hesitated because I genuinely could not clearly identify the lane structure. Instead of guidance or professionalism, I was met with criticism. What frustrates me most is that this did not feel like an assessment focused on safety or ability. It felt like an unnecessarily tense experience where anxiety and examiner attitude heavily impacted the outcome. I fully accept constructive criticism and understand that road tests are serious. But professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy matter too, especially when evaluating drivers you’ve made uncomfortable. Based on both my experience and many similar reviews I later read afterward, I do not believe this examiner should be conducting tests in the manner she currently does. Read Less

I mean it’s convenient and there isn’t a wait. I went for my G test last month and I failed with Ruth. It was definitely my fault but she wasn’t very kind so it made me nervous and obviously more susceptible to mistakes. I went for my re-test today, got a very kind lady (idk her name but she has brown hair). I passed with her. She was immediately very welcoming and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. If you’re going to go here, I would recommend specifying who you want for your instructor because it does make a difference. Also, the ladies at the front desk are very nice as well! Read Less

Please do not even consider doing your G2 road test here, it will save you a lot of grief. As someone who failed in Orillia, rescheduled in Collingwood that week and passed their G2, the driving inspectors/instructors at the Orillia establishment are biased.
