My driving instructor, Tibor, was an amazing teacher. He was very calm and supportive which helped me feel immediately at ease and confident while driving. He also gave good tips and techniques that were very easy to apply. He promoted a safe driving environment that helped me feel more relaxed and confident behind the wheel. Overall, Tibor offered a great experience through his teaching.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Ilonka at DTSM. From the very beginning, Ilonka was the definition of exceptional customer service. She is warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure I had the best possible experience.
Every question I had was answered with patience, professionalism, and remarkable attention to detail. No matter how many questions I asked, Ilonka never made me feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience. Instead, they took the time to explain everything clearly, ensuring I felt informed, comfortable, and confident every step of the way.
What impressed me most was Ilonka's genuine kindness and positive attitude. It is rare to meet someone who not only excels at their job but also treats every person with such respect, compassion, and enthusiasm. Their willingness to go above and beyond made a lasting impression on me and turned what could have been a stressful experience into a truly pleasant one.

I had an amazing experience learning to drive with Tibor. From the very beginning, he created a calm and supportive environment that made me feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel. Tibor was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave me practical tips that actually stick and I feel like he prepared me not just to pass my test, but to be a safe and responsible driver long-term. His lessons are well-structured, and I can tell he genuinely cares about his students’ success. I would highly recommend Tibor to anyone looking for a driving instructor. He made what could have been a stressful experience enjoyable, and I feel so much more confident on the road thanks to him.

He gave helpful feedback and tips that made driving much easier. Thanks to him, I feel more confident and ready to take my test.

I had a really positive experience taking the driving course with Tibor. The program was well organized and covered everything I needed to feel confident and prepared for my road test. Each lesson built on the previous one, so I could clearly see my progress and feel more comfortable behind the wheel every time. Tibor was a huge part of what made the experience so great. He is professional and very knowledgeable. He explains things clearly and makes sure you understand not just what to do, but why you’re doing it. He creates a supportive environment, which really helps build confidence and reduce nerves.
Overall, it was a well-run course with a great instructor. I would definitely recommend Tibor to anyone looking for a positive and thorough driving experience.

I was searching for driving schools for my son and noticed that driving schools have such a bad reputation for the cost of the program. The cost varies between 600 to as high as 900 around the Ottawa area. To me, that is reasonable prices given that the instructors have to use their gas and time to go back and forth. How much does it cost for an Uber or taxi for an hour? likely more than $45 for sure and they don't even teach you to drive and expect a tip at the end of it. I have had one son in music lessons which amount to $50/hour/week which amounts to $2500/year. I have also had my son in karate: paid upfront $1300/year and decided that I wanted out a few weeks later and had no refund at all. I have other friends who spend $1000 per year on hockey fees/gear and another who spend equal amount on dance lessons for her daughter. Thus, why are we willing to pay these non- essential lessons so much money on a recurrent basis without batting an eyelash when we are bemoaning $600 to $900 as a one time cost to get our teenagers to drive safely? Let us get our priorities straight. Those who put forth negativity should be cautious as the laws of karma will reciprocate whatever you put out to the universe. I am posting this to the main driving school websites.

Horrible experience. For 700$ I expected quality service. Unfortunately, the office staff are rude and lazy. The in-car instructor was useless, barely saying anything during the lesson and pressuring me to take all the lessons in 2 hour shifts so he could get rid of me faster. DTSM stress that you CANNOT cancel an in-car session 24 hours prior to it, yet so far there have been TWO OCCASIONS where they call me 3 HOURS BEFORE and tell me the lesson is cancelled. No explanation, no apology, nothing. I am very disappointed in the quality of this service, and I do not recommend taking any driving schools as a have heard that they are all money grabbers and don't teach effectively. But if you want the only true benefit they offer, taking the G2 test after 8 months instead of 1 year later, then I recommend you find the cheapest school possible, definitely NOT dtsm, as they all offer the same pathetic "service".

Absolutely horrible, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS DRIVING SCHOOL,this place will take every chance it can to suck money out of you. So for missing one in car I had to pay 25$,after that it was 50$ once I missed one after attempting to cancel due to a big test, Here is the worst part me a 17 year old kid, owed a small fee, I proceeded politely to ask if I could bring the money to my next in car lesson,And then the lady in the office on the phone began getting aggervated with me and scowling at me in a unprofessional manner for not apparent reason, the lady later paused during this and said hold on a moment she then proceeded to put the phone down and then mock my exact words to her coworkers while cursing in the midst of this! Do not go here the office lady's are rude to the students and the driving instructors can be verbally abussive.

This wasn't the greatest experience. At my first lesson the instructor stopped the lesson to go to the washroom. I was visibly upset by her teaching method which was abrupt. Since then she adapted her teaching method to better fit my learning style and the lessons where much better. However they always ended around 10 minutes early. She cancelled on me once without much notice. Then again on the day of my road test, she cancelled my morning lesson. She insisted she did not know I had a road test that day yet when booking the lessons we specified that that was why we were booking 4 in such a short period. Also the day, before when I had another lesson we also mentioned how the next day would be my road test. It might be possible she didn't hear but it's unlikely, when we called to see if anyone else could replace her for my morning lesson so I could be fully prepared for the afternoon road test we were told it wasn't possible. It's understandable because it's short notice but it's also frustrating to have a lesson cancelled on such short notice the day of the driving test.

His name is Moe and he is a great in car instructor, I highly recommend this place for people who want to do your drivers ed in Barrhaven

I completed my driving course from August 2015 - February 2016.
For the in class portion of the course, I was disappointed since the classroom was super outdated with no windows, freezing cold in the middle of the summer, and only had an old school projector. As well, all course materials were outdated and distorted from being photocopied too many times. I expected a little bit better, considering the course costed $700. However, I liked the instructor Andrew for making the class funny and a little bit less boring.
For the in car lessons, the instructor I originally had was no help to me, so I ended up requesting to switch. My instructor for the remaining lessons, Moe was very helpful and gave me a lot of useful tips that helped me pass my test.

This wasn't the greatest experience. At my first lesson the instructor stopped the lesson to go to the washroom. I was visibly upset by her teaching method which was abrupt. Since then she adapted her teaching method to better fit my learning style and the lessons where much better. However they always ended around 10 minutes early. She cancelled on me once without much notice. Then again on the day of my road test, she cancelled my morning lesson. For the in class portion of the course, I was disappointed since the classroom was super outdated with no windows, freezing cold in the middle of the summer, and only had an old school projector. As well, all course materials were outdated and distorted from being photocopied too many times. I expected a little bit better, considering the course costed $700.
