Just viewed one of Golden Key vehicles, a red Prius with blacked out windows. Shouldn't a driving school follow the Ontario Ministry of Transport regulations. Not setting a good example for new drivers.

Unfortunately I rarely write negative reviews but the service is so terrible that I feel others should know what is happening behind the driving school and in car lessons. Please avoid this school as much as possible. I wasted money paying for driving lessons and I had to switch to another driving school. The driving instructors yell and belittle students for asking questions. Call their students lazy and take smoking breaks during paid in car driving lessons. They don't issue the BDE certificate nor inform students after letting the students know they will be receiving one.

Don't waste your money!! Pay the extra few hundred dollars and go to a more reputed school. This one is cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for!! My daughter did the classroom part online. The in-car sessions left a lot to be desired!!
1) The instructor assigned to my daughter, Joseph did not like that my daughter was asking questions!! My daughter (17yo) learns better when she asks questions, just her way of learning and Joseph was very rude about it.
2) Not once; I repeat not even once did he take her to the test area (we were booked at the McCarthy temporary location). 10 hours in-car (2 hours each session) were spent in Barrhaven doing his errands, visiting people and stores!!
I had to hire another driver and pay for additional 4 hours so she could get used to the test area and feel confident before the test.
3) At the end of the 10 in-car sessions, my daughter was not taught reverse parking!!
4) Furthermore, I asked for a certificate/ some documentation for insurance purposes (to prove that my daughter had completed driver's ed, so we could get a discount). I was asked to go to the Ministry to get the Driver's History. So, now I had to waste time and spend money to get this. Most reputed Driving Schools will issue you a certificate for insurance purposes, NOT this one.
The entire experience was very disappointing :(
I don't like leaving negative Google reviews, but had to do this one so parents know what they are paying for.

Very disappointing in-car instructor won't return calls for pre-paid lessons. These people tale your money and never call back.

In class lessons were alright, but the in-car lessons were excellent. Got my G2 first try a few weeks ago. However, the entire process did take slightly longer than I hoped. I did the in class lessons...
In class lessons were alright, but the in-car lessons were excellent. Got my G2 first try a few weeks ago. However, the entire process did take slightly longer than I hoped. I did the in class lessons in June and only got my license in December. Golden Key should aim to improve their scheduling for students.
Thanks especially to Joseph, my in car driving instructor, for teaching me well. He did a great job.
Overall, as long as you have time, Golden Key is a good place to prep for your G2 test.

For each driving lesson I drove around my instructor to do his errands. I even had to drive him to his house, and wait in his driveway while he brushed his teeth for his dentist appointment. Not to me...
For each driving lesson I drove around my instructor to do his errands. I even had to drive him to his house, and wait in his driveway while he brushed his teeth for his dentist appointment. Not to mention sitting in the costco parking lot for over 40 minutes while he was buying his turkey for thanksgiving and other groceries. Not worth my money at all.

Unfortunately I rarely write negative reviews but the service is so terrible that I feel others should know what is happening behind the driving school and in car lessons. Please avoid this school as much as possible. I wasted money paying for driving lessons and I had to switch to another driving school. In class lessons were alright, but the in-car lessons were excellent. Got my G2 first try a few weeks ago. However, the entire process did take slightly longer than I hoped. I did the in class lessons in June and only got my license in December. Golden Key should aim to improve their scheduling for students.
Thanks especially to Joseph, my in car driving instructor, for teaching me well. He did a great job.
Overall, as long as you have time, Golden Key is a good place to prep for your G2 test.
