3 reasons I enrolled my daughter with young drivers at a cost of $1700: - to learn correctly from an instructor instead of parents The initial instructor was not compitent and kept referring her to us to teach her reverse and parallel parking, 3 point turns and more. We found ourselves teaching our daughter basics that should have been passed on by the instructor. They did replace the driver when we complained, and the following driver was much better. - to finish in 8 month instead of a Year. The kid would have to finish 45%of written material prior to getting in car. My daughter finished the written portion with in 4.5 month because she kept running into issues with the software delaying her progress for full weekends at a time. Once eventually done the written, it took them 3 weeks to secure a driver and get her in vehicle class. They scheduled her every 3 weeks for in car classes even though we voiced our concern about the long intervals. They also suggested that my daughter needed additional classes at an additional $360 cost even though we thought she was ready, adding 2-3 month to the schedule leading to completion of full course on 1 yr and 3 month instead of 8 month and wasting valuable time needed to complete the course in time. - to save on insurance after Once she obtained license, we advised insurance that she has completed the yd course, but they refuse to acknowledge it because apparently she to had to finish with in 1 year for it to count. That was not clear to us as the instruction that included this condition was attached to the online portion instructions making us think it was the deadline for the online portion and not the full course. We tried to speak to yd staff who just said it was out of their hands. Anyway, not worth enrolling year kid as they don't put in the effort to meet timelines, expect you to do most of the training with your kid, and there is a good chance you won't get your insurance discount. Our son just successfully his G license test following two refresher lessons with Pauline from Young Drivers. He specifically requested to have Pauline again, and she went above and beyond to fit him into her schedule. He was thoroughly impressed with Pauline when he did his initial Young Drivers training. I had a great time with young drivers! Not only did they help me improve my driving skills but they also were kind and made me feel comfortable while driving. I want to shoutout my driving instructor Pauline, without her I’m not sure I would’ve passed my road test. Thank you Pauline for everything you have done to help me.
