Don’t schedule any classes with Mengistu Behallu after my session with him that he cut short after being in the car for only 30 minutes. I sobbed for an hour because he made me feel so low and that my driving was awful 💔 ( I have all A’s in every category and have glowing reviews on my file from other instructors ) this man absolutely destroyed my confidence in driving and made me feel like a failure. Stella, Cheryl, Daniel and Kim are FANTASTIC instructors and made the entire process worth it. The comments regarding the availability of courses are spot on and 100% accurate. You have to check every single day (try and check twice a day, that seemed to work for me) to see if any course (theory or in-car) becomes available. When you enroll online, there is an option that costs extra that will allow you to book with other Tecnic locations. I suggest you take this option, or you will be stuck with the limited availability here. The phone does not get answered at this location ever, nor are they in the office during the business hours they post, so when you have a question about your final exams or you need to pick up your theory book, you will have a very hard time. Tecnic HQ is well aware that this location has an issue with staff. When I first started, the head office suggested that I walk or bus to Mercier to get my theory book because the receptionist at the Châteauguay location had decided she would come in at noon instead of 11 am as posted, they were honest with me, this was not the first time it had happened and I am not the first customer to call and have this issue. Appalling Service, Non-Existent Courses - AVOID AT ANY AND ALL COST I wish I could give zero stars. This driving school is an absolute disgrace. I signed up and paid IN FULL in July of 2023, with the understanding that I'd be able to get my license within 10 months, as advertised. Now, here's the kicker: they have NO AVAILABLE COURSES. Months have gone by, and my learner's license is about to expire. This means I'll be forced to pay for a probationary license that's basically useless, as I won't have completed the required driving course to actually go and do a practical test at the SAAQ. Let me break down how ridiculous this is: I've built a driving simulator in my bedroom out of sheer frustration! It's absurd that I was able to obtain my PILOT CERTIFICATE before completing a driver's course at this place. To add insult to injury, Tecnic has a history of canceling classes at the last minute. Scheduling classes is like winning the lottery – you might get lucky and snag a spot months down the line....... Tecnic is a complete waste of time and money.
