Southside Driving School is a family run business operated by RSA Approved Driving Instructor Alan O'Connor and his wife Fiona. We cover all of the southside of Dublin and commit to providing you with professional lessons at super recession busting prices! We're happy to give you driving lessons at a time that suits you, so we're available 7 days a week :) Driving lessons with us are only €35 per hour - we are happy for you to PAY AS YOU GO, no need to book a course! I can’t recommend Alan enough as a driving instructor. I passed my driving test thanks to him, but more importantly, he helped me rebuild my confidence. Before finding Alan, I had lessons with other instructors who actually made me lose confidence in my driving.
Alan was patient, supportive, and always believed in me. He explains everything clearly and makes you feel calm and capable behind the wheel.
What really makes him special is how much he genuinely cares about his students. On the day of my test he waited with me, supported me through the nerves, and even drove me home afterwards. He treated me more like family than just a student.
Every hour with him is absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for an instructor who will truly help you become a confident driver, Alan is the one.
And just FYI, he can also speak some Spanish!

Alan is a a really good instructor. i have the driving license from my home country and years of experience driving, but during his lessons I realize that I had lot of errors, bad habits and mistakes while driving. Thanks to him I was able to amend and correct myself after the lessons. Also the lessons before the driving test were key to pass my test in the fist attempt. I strongly recommend Alan to new and experience drivers, his experience and knowledge would make any person comfortable during all lessons.

I started having lessons with Alan three months ago. It was the first time, ever, I was learning how to drive and Alan made everything so easy and simple! Besides being such a nice guy, he's so patient, easygoing and made me feel very comfortable since the first day (even though I was very nervous for driving for the first time). So, after these 3 months I had my test yesterday and I passed!!! I couldn't be happier for passing in my first driving test and Alan had an important role in this. Alan, I want to say thanks for all your help, support and chats during our lessons! Muito obrigada!!!

I can’t recommend Alan enough as a driving instructor. I passed my driving test thanks to him, but more importantly, he helped me rebuild my confidence. Before finding Alan, I had lessons with other instructors who actually made me lose confidence in my driving.
Alan was patient, supportive, and always believed in me. He explains everything clearly and makes you feel calm and capable behind the wheel.

Alan is a a really good instructor. i have the driving license from my home country and years of experience driving, but during his lessons I realize that I had lot of errors, bad habits and mistakes while driving. Thanks to him I was able to amend and correct myself after the lessons. Also the lessons before the driving test were key to pass my test in the fist attempt. I strongly recommend Alan to new and experience drivers, his experience and knowledge would make any person comfortable during all lessons.

I started having lessons with Alan three months ago. It was the first time, ever, I was learning how to drive and Alan made everything so easy and simple! Besides being such a nice guy, he's so patient, easygoing and made me feel very comfortable since the first day (even though I was very nervous for driving for the first time). So, after these 3 months I had my test yesterday and I passed!!! I couldn't be happier for passing in my first driving test and Alan had an important role in this. Alan, I want to say thanks for all your help, support and chats during our lessons! Muito obrigada!!!
