I was hesitant on getting my IBT done, and on the first day of the IBT the nerves really started kicking in. After the first day, I thought of giving up as I was getting more and more nervous especially knowing we're going out on public roads for day 2.
There was nothing to be nervous about. Eric and the lads are so good at explaining everything, from before you even get on to the bike to when you're actually riding, that the nerves slowly start drifting away while the confidence builds up. These lads are well experienced and know their stuff.
The theory side of the IBT was carried out in such a way as to keep you engaged throughout. The in-depth explanation of what gear to look out for and what to avoid really helped in buying gear that keeps me safe but also comfortable. Along with positioning on the road, where your eyes and head need to be while on the bike and many other things you never even think about before you do your IBT.
The practical side is an experience for sure. Before you even hop on the bike, the instructors go through every step you need to take in order to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. After being shown how to get on the bike, get it started etc. you start doing circuits around the grounds practicing manoeuvres, braking and everything else you need to know while riding.
When the instructors are confident that you're not a danger on two wheels, you get paired up with another student to go out on public roads with an instructor. Headsets are set up beforehand so your instructor is always in your ears to guide you along the whole way. At first, I was nervous as you're out in the open with cars and lorries all around you. But then you realise that as long as you follow everything the instructor says, you're staying on the bike in one piece without worry.
Before the IBT, I didn't think I was going to pull through with it. After passing the IBT, I put a deposit on a bike and am counting the seconds until it's in my hands, to continue practicing and improving upon what was thought in the IBT.
Eric and the team don't just teach you how to ride a bike, but help you overcome that nervousness and uncertainty of "am I really able for this". With how well this course is put together, it'll surprising if you're still doubting yourself after passing the IBT.
Great work Eric and thank you for the amazing and enjoyable experience. Keep up the good work.
Eric is the only person I'd recommend for doing the IBT, no matter your confidence level. Read Less
