The pre-purchase inspection is misleading. I paid $229 for a “thorough inspection,” yet two weeks later the engine failed due to multiple issues that were not reported. My trusted mechanic confirmed these problems should have been identified. Result: engine replacement, buyer withdrew, and thousands of dollars lost. The inspection is supposed to be more thorough than a WOF — it clearly isn’t.

The staff at the Blenheim AA Center are wonderful, I just wish the Call Center had told us that it was actually closed today as we’ve driven an hour and a half to get a license, when the center is actually closed. Upon calling the toll-free AA number they actually have no idea when each service center is open. If you’re wondering opening hours during the Christmas New Year’s break, you can refer to this picture.
Update: all open again, dealt with Shelley, who was just wonderful.

Have been a member for over thirty years. They offer a great service at a reasonable yearly fee. Also get a AA discount each time I buy $40 of feul.

Newly arrived back to NZ from living in Perth, WA for 25 years we had to renew our NZ licenses. We had the absolute pleasure of being attended to by Tamara at the Blenheim AA office. This girl could & should teach many kiwis AND Aussies what Customer Service is all about. Nothing was too much trouble, she knew her job extremely well and was so friendly and efficient it was incredible. We had to visit 3 times and we were lucky enough to get Tamara each time. She was so lovely and friendly the AA is lucky to have her. I believe that outstanding service should be recognised and want to thank AA for having such an incredible Customer Service legend on their team.

The pre-purchase inspection is misleading. I paid $229 for a “thorough inspection,” yet two weeks later the engine failed due to multiple issues that were not reported. My trusted mechanic confirmed these problems should have been identified. Result: engine replacement, buyer withdrew, and thousands of dollars lost.
