Our recent driving lesson with Sue unfortunately fell well below the standard we expected from the AA. From the beginning, Sue’s manner was rude and dismissive. When we arrived, she appeared inconvenienced and made several comments about how “most people use their own car,” despite us specifically booking the lesson using her vehicle as advertised. This was repeated again to my daughter after I left, which made her feel unwelcome before the lesson even began. Throughout the lesson, Sue provided criticism without constructive guidance or explanation. My daughter reported that the instructions were stern—which we expect—but lacked any teaching value. At one point, feeling overwhelmed in peak traffic and an unfamiliar vehicle, She became upset and asked to briefly pull over to compose herself. Sue responded with, “We don’t have time for that, keep going,” which we believe was inappropriate and unsafe for a stressed learner driver. My daughter also described moments of conflicting instructions (e.g., being told to check blind spots but then reprimanded for not watching directly ahead during the check). She also said Sue used the dual brake at a roundabout in a situation she (Sue) found startling, even though no actual danger was present. I do not doubt Sue’s technical driving knowledge, but her teaching approach is not suitable for teen drivers who require guidance, support, and clear instruction. My daughter left the lesson more anxious and less confident than when she started. Based on this experience, we would not recommend Sue as an instructor. We hope this feedback helps improve the quality of learner support provided by the AA. Read Less

Shockingly poor to have one person operating a monopoly, breeding an entitled attitude. Not impressed with this service from the AA.
