Very disappointing, racist instructor. I had this driving instructor several years ago (2016) and just came across my old notebook which reminded me of him. I was recommended him by my girlfriend at the time so saw no reason not to go with him. The first 10 or so lessons were issue-free though he wasn't particularly good, and then one day he met my parents for 5 minutes after a lesson. I speak with an English accent but my parents have Irish accents. From the following lesson, he started being more belligerent and then regularly started making comments about my ability to understand instructions being related to my lack of intelligence on account of me being Irish. Attempted to take lessons with this chap several years ago. First thing I put emphasis on was that I needed at least 1 lesson a week, preferably two, at consistent and regular times. He said he could accommodate. Unfortunately that did not happen. I started getting text messages with excuses saying how he could not make it, having to cancel pre-agreed times. This happened again and again. I felt like my lessons were a chore to him and I was lucky to get one lesson a fortnight. During the lessons, I found his teaching style to be quite harsh and regimented, which made me stressed, on edge, causing me make more mistakes than I otherwise would have. Not great for a beginner. Due to the infrequent and unpredictable nature of the lessons, I decided I had to combine my lessons with an AA instructor. These were more reliable and I had two lessons a week at regular times. When I finally had another lesson with Andrew, he was critical of my decision to get additional lessons and put me in front of an ultimatum. Either I would only get lessons with him, or he did not want to teach me. That's the point when I decided to break ties with Andrew. Suffice to say my lessons with AA were more consistent, easy-going and I passed both my theory and practical first time with them. Unfortunately not a massively pleasant experience with this instructor. Though I am sure there are others for whom it was more positive. Read Less

Andy lead me to pass with 2 minors after 25 lessons. He has a calm and deliberate style without ever getting stressed out or raising his voice. He makes friendly conversation and made me feel comfortable. He uses a 2011 Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost (I'm fairly sure) which is very easy to drive and accommodates tall drivers. He only provides one hour slots which last precisely one hour and is quite busy so wasn't able to be particularly flexible. He provides an unadvertised 'recommend a friend and get a discount' scheme which I think is £10 off a lesson. Highly recommended, even if it is too late to earn any potential tenners.... Read Less
