He was accommodating around my work schedule and I appreciated his lesson reminders every Sunday. He also made plans for each lesson, so I could prepare ahead of time with the manual driving guide. I found the app useful for tracking my progress, and the manual driving guide was great to refer back to. Andrew didn’t just teach me how to pass the test, he taught me how to drive confidently and safely in all kinds of real-life scenarios. I can’t recommend Thomas Fernandes highly enough as an instructor. He is the main reason I was able to pass my driving test first time. Before learning with Thomas, I had a previous instructor who wasn’t very attentive and progressed far too slowly, which made it difficult for me to build confidence and improve. As soon as I started lessons with Thomas, the difference was clear. Thomas helped me move quickly from the basics to tackling the more challenging routes around Milton Keynes. His teaching style is clear, patient, and very focused on helping you improve each lesson. He explains things in a way that makes them easy to understand and always makes sure you feel comfortable while still pushing you to progress. One thing that really stood out was his excellent knowledge of the test routes. For my mock tests, he took me on routes that were extremely similar to the ones that actually came up in my real exam, which made me feel prepared and confident on the day. I avoided writing a review until now but every time I think back on my experience my blood boils. I booked for an assessment lesson to see how many hours of intensive lessons I should book. My dealings with the team were really nice and polite. The instructor however was not. He was playing loud music when he arrived in front of my house. I wasn’t offended by this but it really struck me as odd. I say odd because he ignored me and was singing along. He only acknowledged me when he felt ready. Rude. I’m a fairly quiet person around people I don’t know. I prefer to sit back and listen, but this guy was rabbiting on about issues I did not care to discuss with a stranger. So it’s fair to say I was becoming increasingly irate. On to his instructing ability. It was awful. I’m confident driving on main roads, I just need instruction on manoeuvres. However, this guy was comm bring on things I was doing that in no way affected how I was driving. For example, he thought the way my hands were at 10 and 2 was odd. He wanted me to talk him through every single thing. “I’m checking the mirrors”, “I’m pressing the gas pedal”. I felt like I was in primary school. I also didn’t like how much time he wasted with his theatrics and obnoxiousness. He made me pull over for a 30 minute soliloquy on his years of experience and what he’s like as an instructor. I didn’t care. He made inappropriate comments on my appearance and police officers which I’m sure he thought was flattering. It wasn’t. The one thing I absolutely could not stand was that he was always grabbing the steering wheel. He was exaggerating my lane placement and he would reach over and jerk the wheel from my hands. This is so dangerous I can’t even describe how annoyed I was. I was never once in danger of crashing. He said he just wanted to show me I could move more to the left. I never feel that an instructor should do this. It’s very shocking and my immediate reaction is to press the brake. Of course if you feel like your steering control is gone your instinctual reaction is to brake. He would then comment and say I need to stop breaking. Lastly, he was shady as anything. He had an entire different company operating under driveJohnsons. He had different prices (higher of course) and a different company name. I lost his contact information and contacted driveJohnsons to get his email. I told them he was operating under a different company and this guy had the cheek to call me and try to tell me off. What a weirdo. It’s a shame because I was more than prepared to go through with the intensive course but this guy was the only automatic instructor they had in my area. Absolutely unbelievable. I have just had a Drive Johnson instructor tail gate me very dangerously on the A5 North (car plates KR14 WWH, black car, young guy with a beard wearing a short sleeved white shirt today - 4 August 2017 at 4.06pm). I was already going 70mph. Had to move over quickly because he was so pushy. There was a car in the lane that I had to move into which had to slow down and let me in. I flashed my lights at the Drive Johnson instructor, but he sped past and did the same to a car just ahead of me. The instructor even had to brake until the driver in front got out of his way! The Drive Johnson instructor then moved over to the left lane to exit onto the A509.. He did not signal that he was taking the exit, but then started to signal right. I wasn't sure what the guy was doing and whether or not he was coming back on to the A5! Instructors really ought to be safer than this and remember who they represent. My own child is coming up for lessons soon and there is no way I will use this company with instructors like that on the road. Read Less

Magda is an absolutely amazing person and instructor. After having a few bad experiences with other driving instructors, I'm so glad I found her through a friends' recommendation. She's patient, super friendly, very easy to talk to and is great at what she does. She always has great time management and replied fast if I needed to book in some lessons leading up to a test. She was always honest with how she felt about my driving skills, which I loved - as I'd rather someone tell me I could do better and improve on certain things than falsely sing praises all the time to make me feel better. I'm sad I won't get to drive with her anymore now that I've passed, but I'm so grateful for everything she taught me and for all the laughs we had. A great job opportunity came up that required me to have a full UK driving licence and I had been to lazy to get one in the past and hadn't had lessons, so I needed to get a license really quickly for the job. I booked an assessment lesson (as I was advised to do) and then completed an intensive course. After the third lesson, my instructor told me to book my test.
