Very helpful was told about Marie from Berwick motability. Kevin at motability centre gave me Marie phone number has I needed lessons how to drive a motability vehicle with hand controls she so professional and she gave confidence after the 2nd lesson.
been driving for 30 plus years. Then lost use off my legs to drive so very greatfull to someone like Marie is out and bout highly recommended for your driving lessons if never driven before or like me try look her up you will not be disappointed

Marie Tomlinson is a fantastic driving instructor. I’m a nervous learner driver in my mid fifties learning automatic. She is a very thorough, patient and professional teacher. I’ve increased my confidence loads, learnt the best safe driving methods and eliminated bad habits. Highly recommended.

I’ve just passed with Anchor School of Motoring and can’t rate Marie highly enough! She is very thorough and has the patience of a saint, and as someone who was a very nervous driver at first she helped build my confidence every lesson over the months so that I was ready for my test. I would recommend Marie to anyone who is looking for a patient, friendly driving instructor - especially for anyone who is a bit nervous about driving!

After being totally ripped off by one of Carlisle's biggest driving schools who would have still been taking my money now I found Anchor School of Motoring. Tutor is the most patient and amazing instructor. She specialises in people with physical disabilities and neurodiversities. She won't keep taking your money and will always be fair. Unlike other driving schools Marie teaches folks to drive, not to just pass their test

The tutor stresses me out. I feel that she snaps at me all the time and has a habit of tut-ing me when I do something wrong. This just makes me more stressed and my driving goes to pieces.

The tutor stresses me out. I feel that she snaps at me all the time and has a habit of tut-ing me when I do something wrong. This just makes me more stressed and my driving goes to pieces.
I have had at least 10 hours of tuition and we have done barely any work on manoeuvres, there is one that I have not gone through with her. She has completely confused me with many manoeuvres by over complicating it.
As a new driver I am obviously concerned that I am going to crash or damage the car in some way. The teacher does not help this concern at all by getting frustrated if I accidentally bump the tires or something.
I switched to automatic to ease the stress that driving causes me and try to get my confidence back. However, I have not improved in confidence much since I started.
Perhaps if you have had her teaching you from the start, it would be easier, rather than switching to her lessons?

Started my lessons 1st march and passed first time 17th may.
Marie is a great tutor with patience and flexibility.
