I am extremely disappointed with my experience of Jan’s Driving School. While Jan claims to teach beginners, their behaviour on the road is completely unacceptable. As someone who drives with L plates, I expect patience and professionalism — not anger and road rage. I witnessed Jan shouting and showing aggressive behaviour towards young people on mopeds. This is not only unprofessional but also dangerous. Learners, whether on mopeds or in cars, deserve understanding and support, not hostility. How can a driving instructor, whose job is to promote road safety and calm decision-making, lose their temper so easily? If you are considering lessons here, think very carefully. A driving school should set the standard for good conduct on the road, and sadly, this is not what I experienced. This is not how I expect a driver instructor to act. I was shocked by my experience with Jan’s Driving School in Penrith. Despite being someone whose job is to teach road safety and patience, she showed her true colours by road raging at me while I was riding my 50cc moped with clear L plates. She repeatedly honked her horn and even verbally abused me. The situation happened on a very narrow section of road where she attempted to overtake, but the gap was far too small. Instead of exercising patience, she took her frustration out on me simply because my moped is slower than her car. What makes this even more concerning is that she was alone in her vehicle, which was clearly marked with her business signage, making it clear this behaviour came from the driving school itself. For someone who is supposed to help people learn on the roads, this behaviour was unprofessional, aggressive, and completely unacceptable.
