I contacted Andy for mock tests as I was practicing in my family car. But it all turned to driving lessons as he understood I needed professional coaching. He's knowledgeable and explained with pictures and highway code that made it easy for me. His teaching approach makes you thorough. I nearly had 20hrs of lessons with him and extra hours in family car.I passed first time! Thankyou for your help Andy.

I contacted this instructor through WhatsApp because I needed a mock test and a car for my driving test. During our initial conversation, we discussed both, and based on that understanding I booked a two-hour lesson on Friday 29/05/2026.
After completing the lesson and paying £90, I was told that I could not use the instructor’s car for my driving test and that I was not ready and needed more lessons.
I was very disappointed because this was only explained after the lesson had finished. If the car was not going to be available for my test, I would have preferred to know this from the beginning before booking and paying for the lesson.
I passed my driving test today, just 4 days later, with only one driving fault. While I respect that every instructor is entitled to their professional opinion, I feel that the assessment of my readiness for the test was not accurate.
This was my personal experience, and I hope future learners are given clear information from the start so they can make informed decisions.

Andy is a great instructor. There are so many things to focus on while driving, and you can trust him to have your back when you make mistakes. I don't find driving easy, but Andy's confidence in me as well as his commitment to making sure I'm a safe driver is why I've passed my practical test. One thing I especially liked about his teaching style is that it is very student-led. He's also very punctual and a lovely guy.

Andrew cancelled my lessons at short notice, his “wife”messaged me saying that he was very unwell and would not be able to do any more lessons but I just saw him on the road (three day after this message). I had to cancel my test last minute. He has proved to be unreliable and I think it’s odd to fake an illness rather than being honest.

Huge thanks to Andy for giving me the confidence and knowledge I needed to pass my test first time! I'll admit I pushed myself to do the test quicker than I'd recommend but Andy made the decision to proceed easy with his clear, concise instructions and tips. Roundabouts were a nightmare before my sessions with Andy but ended up being the easiest part of the test for me on the day after only two sessions. Best thing about Andy is his temperament... You feel at ease even when you make mistakes

After a long stint without driving and a real need to pass my test Andy helped me in every way possible to ensure that I felt confident on the day of my test. If you are looking for a patient, friendly and professional driving instructor then you have found him. Nothing was too much trouble and he even gave up his free time to fit in a last minute lesson to make sure that I was going to be at my best. Cheers Mate!

Andy was an incredible driving instructor. After numerous driving tests and a variety of other driving instructors, Andy helped rebuild my confidence and showed me how to stay safe on the roads. I now feel like I will be able to handle whatever comes my way! I thoroughly recommend Dixon Driving to those, like me, who never thought 'passing your test' could happen.

Andy's a great teacher and a funny guy. He tells it like it is and gets you up to a standard which is way above the level needed to pass your test. He not only gets you the licence but more importantly teaches you how to be confident and safe on the road. I passed the test with eight minors. I would highly recommend him to any learner. Thanks for everything you've taught me :). Good luck with future endeavours!

"One negative comment is stronger than 1000 positive comments". Everyone tells about your positive things. But only true people tells your negative things. That's what Andy did to me. Actually I have good driving experience in India. But not aware of UK rules. Andy made me success my test with just few classes (you don't believe in just 8 classes) and I passed my test with just 2 minor mistakes. Andy made me not only to pass the test, He made me stronger and more confident driver on UK roads now. Thanks a lot and I really appreciate you Andy. You are the real instructor and guider.

And the credit for getting license goes to you Andy.. Guys, I cant thank enough him for being so generous and cooperative. He's so calm, cool and too good at teaching through mistakes as he'll remember our mistakes more than us and work hard on how to avoid those in future with all possibilities of what could go wrong. Being upto his expectations during lessons brings out more perfection from me.. This was my first attempt with the Andy. He was my third instructor as i failed almost 3 times with others and i definitely recommend him among others. Thanks again Andy for this license :-)

I'd postponed learning to drive for so long that I thought I'd never ever be able to get behind the wheel of a car as a full license holder, but thanks to Andy's warm understanding and empathetic tutoring skills I passed my test first time. Even now, weeks later with my license in my wallet, I still can't quite believe it, but it's true. He took an awkward, overly anxious and painfully self-critical mess of a man and, with warm patience and a relaxing attitude, helped him succeed at what once seemed impossible. I can't thank Andy enough and will remember our lessons together and my eventual success as one of the most emotional and ultimately rewarding times of my life.

I contacted Andy for mock tests as I was practicing in my family car. But it all turned to driving lessons as he understood I needed professional coaching. He's knowledgeable and explained with pictures and highway code that made it easy for me. His teaching approach makes you thorough. Andy is a great instructor. There are so many things to focus on while driving, and you can trust him to have your back when you make mistakes.
