An absolute scam. I booked this for my son on the understanding that if he didn’t pass the first practical assessment, he would be able to retake it. He completed the course in April 2024, and took the practical test in August 2024. We have already paid for a retest, but still have not been given a date. Last contacted February 2026 just said it will come when it comes awful

I did the course back in February 2025, my instructor was Glenn and he was amazing. He taught me everything and knew I could drive so didn’t treat me like I was stupid. However Glenn left and I was left with someone called Alfie. Alfie criticised everything that I did, told me that checking my blind spots would cause me to fail and I didn’t need to know how to park for the test. He was rude and on the day of my test shouted at me. He made me cry on the drive to the test centre, he shouted at me for driving between my last lesson and test (which was several months) he also charged me for the catch up lessons and tried to charge me for the day of the test and the lesson before hand which was supposed to be free. He took a lot of money from me which after paying thousands for the course I don’t think I’d have to pay £80 per 1.5hour lesson. He belittled me and told me I wouldn’t pass. No thanks to him I passed. He asked me how I passed and he didn’t think I should have. I’ve been driving for 5 months now and have yet to have an issue with my driving like he said I would. 5 day also told me if I found my own test they would pay me for the money I payed for my test yet I never received it. So on top of the course payment, I payed an extra £320 in lessons, £60 for the test, I also had to pay a lot in learners insurance as I wasn’t being taught for months at a time. Save your money and use anyone else.

If you have the dedication to commit to the course, I 100% recommend it. I passed today first time with only 2 minors. My instructor, Karen, was amazing. Very helpful and we only did 6 hours on top of the 20 hour course which goes to show how quickly she managed to teach me everything considering the fact I have no drivers in my family. She is very kind and managed to move around her schedule for me since I found a test in short notice. Highly recommend the course if you’re a quick learner.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING A COURSE!
I booked a 5-day course in August 2024 and after waiting for 15 months, I was finally given a test date for May 2026. Yes, I know the DVSA has long waiting times (around 11 months), but this company completely misled me. They bragged about having a “dedicated team” who would find me an earlier test within 4 months — which was clearly just a line to take my money.
How on earth do they expect anyone to do a 5-day course and then somehow keep it all fresh for 21 months before a test? It’s ridiculous. They clearly don’t care about their customers at all — just about getting paid. My course reference number is - SD-Y19P7, incase you claim this review is fake!

I have just passed my test first time after completing a 5 Day intensive course. I wouldn’t have achieved this without the help of my fantastic instructor Alfie, he was professional and gave me so much important advice. Glen who taught the theory side was also amazing and helped me to pass that first time also. I cannot recommend this course enough, thank you so much!!!

The course combines theory and practical learning from 9-5pm or 11-7pm each day. WARNING: Chances of you fully knowing how to drive at the end of the 5 days are very unlikely. Your paying £930+ for mostly THEORY as you only get 20 hours of ACTUAL DRIVING on the course, which isn't mentioned anyway before you pay.
The '5Day' slogan is mostly marketing hype, I had 8 hours experience before starting the course and on the last day I was told I would still need 10-12 hours before I can take my test! Which I have to pay for out of my own pocket elsewhere! So if your looking for the all in one package there are many other better driving schools for a better price
EDIT REPLY: Still doesn't change the issue that there is not enough time spent on the practical driving during the duration of the course. Your effectively paying £450 for 20 hrs on the road and 20 hrs in a classroom learning theory. This is not cost effective

Using the 5 day Chelmsford centre has been amazing. My instructor was fantastic and incredibly patient. 5 day have helped me remove the fear from driving and have got me at test level within the 5 days. They also go thorugh theory training and get you prepared for all scenarios. I would recommend 5 day as my experience has been faultless.

An absolute scam. I booked this for my son on the understanding that if he didn’t pass the first practical assessment, he would be able to retake it. I did the course back in February 2025, my instructor was Glenn and he was amazing. He taught me everything and knew I could drive so didn’t treat me like I was stupid. However Glenn left and I was left with someone called Alfie. If you have the dedication to commit to the course, I 100% recommend it. I passed today first time with only 2 minors. My instructor, Karen, was amazing. Very helpful and we only did 6 hours on top of the 20 hour course which goes to show how quickly she managed to teach me everything considering the fact I have no drivers in my family. She is very kind and managed to move around her schedule for me since I found a test in short notice. Highly recommend the course if you’re a quick learner.

I booked a 5-day course in August 2024 and after waiting for 15 months, I was finally given a test date for May 2026. Yes, I know the DVSA has long waiting times (around 11 months), but this company completely misled me. I have just passed my test first time after completing a 5 Day intensive course. I wouldn’t have achieved this without the help of my fantastic instructor Alfie, he was professional and gave me so much important advice. Glen who taught the theory side was also amazing and helped me to pass that first time also. I cannot recommend this course enough, thank you so much!!!

The course combines theory and practical learning from 9-5pm or 11-7pm each day. WARNING: Chances of you fully knowing how to drive at the end of the 5 days are very unlikely. Your paying £930+ for mostly THEORY as you only get 20 hours of ACTUAL DRIVING on the course, which isn't mentioned anyway before you pay.

Which I have to pay for out of my own pocket elsewhere! So if your looking for the all in one package there are many other better driving schools for a better price

Using the 5 day Chelmsford centre has been amazing. My instructor was fantastic and incredibly patient. 5 day have helped me remove the fear from driving and have got me at test level within the 5 days. They also go thorugh theory training and get you prepared for all scenarios. I would recommend 5 day as my experience has been faultless.
