Feel very let down by Peter Webb , EXL owner/director. My daughter has been driving with them for 7 years through a SEN charity on the track and 2 years ago moved to lessons on the road when she was old enough. David Featherstone was a wonderful instructor but unfortunately moved abroad and Peter Webb took on her lessons. Peter proved to be unreliable. He was more than often late - up to 45 minutes, cancelled lessons at short notice but 6 weeks ago failed to turn up for a lesson. There was no communication from Peter for a week when he said he would call. He didn't call despite me messaging and calling him. I called the office to be told he hadn't been seen for sometime. Another promise to call me to rearrange did not happen. I got a refund on the money owed but he was still unable to communicate when I asked him to be upfront and honest about messing my daughter around. I can't comment on the other instructors but feel he is letting his students and staff down by behaving in such an unprofessional manner. Would not recommend if he is still in charge! Read Less

I couldn't recommend EXL enough!! EXL as a company are brilliant and very professional! If it wasn't for these guys I don't reckon I would've passed in 8 days after turning 17! John (my instructor) was such a nice guy and showed me and helped me go from 0 experience to as much experience as I could get! I went to their track in Harlow before I turned 17 so they could assess me and teach me manoeuvres etc before my intensive course. I would recommend anyone to use their track as you get to meet everyone and get used to the vehicles!Read Less

I was having driving lessons with one of their instructor (Dave ), gave me an appointment and told him that day will not be favourable for me because of childcare issues. He told me he will get back to me and that was the end of it. Didn't hear from him or anybody again. I don't know if that's how they treat their customers. You don't need lessons from them to know they are a bunch of rude, ignorant people. Put up with an instructor today who decided to show his student the engine directly opposite my driveway. 100 yards of road to park the car in but he decides to park in front of the only driveway on that stretch of road making it difficult to manoeuvre our car out. Everytime I meet a selfish, inconsiderate driver I will think there goes another person who passed with EXL. Read Less

I paid £99 as a gift for my partner for a block of 5 lessons. They failed to turn up for the lessons on multiple occasions all last minute so we decided to go with another company and cancelled the lessons. We were promised a refund due to the poor service. Have left multiple messages for a refund of money and all calls have been ignored and no one has got back to us. This was now 3 months ago... still no refund! DONT BOTHER wanted to take automatic lessons as i had trouble with manual because of a bad knee but told i couldnt change until the owner had spoke to me fair enough you might say? Don't even bother setting up an appointment with this driving school. Extremely unprofessional. I booked an appointment with them a month ago. I then cancelled that appointment 15 days later because of other commitments I thought I may have. 3 days later I called them again and rebooked the appointment for the same day. On the day of the appointment was waiting 30 mins for the driver but they did not turn up. Called the school and told them about it and they blamed the driving instructors without taking responsibility for the problem. They did not have even have a complaints procedure.
