07.06.2017- Oh my God... I am over the moon. I have passed my practical test today at my very first attempt with just one minor. At the end of my test, this was the comment from my examiner to my instructor (Maz) - "You just missed a clear sheet mate that was a neat and steady driving". I was completely new to driving I've never driven before and was totally new to the roads. I was very nervous even to the thought of learning to drive but it was my husband's push to make this scary decision. I was looking for big brands like RED etc Maz was actually my husband's best ever find for me. He chose Maz based on the reviews on HMS website. I told him that I would only try and if I didn't like I would not carry on further and that was agreed. I was so reluctant especially because it was a male instructor too. Everything turned out to be so positive for me after meeting Maz for the first time. He is such a friendly and decent person who makes you feel at ease when it comes to learning to drive. Right from the beginning through to the end (today :( ) I enjoyed working with a man of wisdom, experience and expertise. I have now passed my test ( literally today) and the entire credit goes to Maz. I can talk about his expertise for ever but to mention something that every learner wants to know - he just teaches you what is exactly expected off you on the day of the test. One example - This morning On our way to the test center Maz took me on some roads and important points in the test route that learners are prone to make mistakes and taught me how to tackle them (It was a recap actually. We've been there before!). Thanks a million just for that. I was taken exactly on those roads. The final tips and last minute recap/reminders gave me enormous confidence in tackling them. Another point to mention, unlike many self employed instructors, Maz is not after money. He just encourages you and motivates you to bring the best driver out of you in no time. He was so flexible in booking the lessons too (quite intensive actually) and worked around my availability. I would say that the person who took the time to read this review is very lucky to have read it as I hope this would help you in choosing the best instructor. Another tip for learners - if you are thinking of learning to drive book your lessons quite close to each other just like me for e.g. 2 to 3 hrs a day for 5 days a week in order to learn quickly given the expertise of Maz. I started my learning on the 26th of April in the schedule explained above and have passed my test. This would give you a rough idea if you are entirely new just like I was. Maz has been absolutely fantastic in supporting me in the lessons. From zero experience in driving he has helped me develop my skills the RIGHT way. I've just passed my driving test at Pinner test center from 2nd attempt. Driving instructor is Maz from HMS driving school. He is perfect. Always on time, well organised and calm. He explains very clearly, he has a lot info in his car and shows you on pictures and Ipad what would happen on the road. He knows all testing roots. His new Toyota car makes lessons enjoyable and easy to drive. He is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I would recommend Maz everybody who is looking for good instructor.
