He was always on time and progression was good. I understand that I made mistakes at times but how the instructor dealt with this was not appropriate in my opinion. As a learner driver, you are not going to be perfect from the moment you sit in the drivers seat. He knew that I was nervous and have had a bad experience in the past, but I felt this was not acknowledged at all. He shouted at me and would often use the steering wheel and used the dual controls without giving me a reason as to why. Sometimes, he would completely ignore my questions or respond in a dismissive or rude tone. He was not very friendly and not someone I would recommend as a nervous *learner* driver. I would advise you to search around an instructor that fits your needs rather than going with the one that fits your availability straight away. Make sure you are comfortable with them and not be scared they will shout at you if you make mistakes, because ultimately you are paying a lot to learn nowadays. Tony has been 100% professional, commited and focused on my learning the entire time. Every lesson i have progressed. He knows the what, where, when and how of everything to do with driving. I can honestly and entirely recommend cals driving school to anybody who may be on the fence about picking up that phone and booking a lesson. My son used Tony as his instructor. 30 odd lessons later he still says he’s nowhere near his test. I took him out and he’s a good and confident driver. I dont feel that he progresses learners as quickly as he should. The comments from others are definitely aligned to what my son has said We’ve booked a test for august and I’ll take him out until then. We have just had a message to say he can’t give lessons for 4-6 months, no alternative number for an instructor at all.
