I would not recommend learning to drive with *Ghulam Chaudry* based on my personal experience.
A driving instructor should help build a learner’s confidence, patience, and road awareness, especially for students who may already feel nervous behind the wheel. Unfortunately, my experience did not feel supportive, and lessons often became quite stressful.
During lessons, there were several occasions where attention appeared divided by personal matters and distractions during paid lesson time. Communication also often felt abrupt and discouraging, with raised voices rather than calm and constructive teaching. Over time, this negatively affected my confidence and increased anxiety around lessons.
What disappointed me most was being informed only a few weeks before my practical test — despite the test being booked months in advance — that he would no longer be taking me. This left me in a very difficult position after investing significant time, money, and preparation.
Driving lessons should provide a professional and encouraging learning environment where mistakes are corrected patiently and learners feel supported as they improve. I genuinely enjoy driving, but unfortunately I often came away from lessons feeling more anxious than confident.
I will also be raising my concerns formally with the DVSA, as professionalism, reliability, and appropriate conduct are extremely important in driver training. Read Less
