Although I passed my test several years ago, I never drove afterwards. When I decided to take refresher lessons, I was feeling really nervous and lacked self-confidence in my abilities. Darrin was the best instructor!! He was so friendly and patient in every lesson. I really appreciated how he created a positive atmosphere in the car. I had a horrible instructor from them who wouldn't let me drive from our house for the first four lessons! I had to request very strongly that I would love to drive from our house. He wasn't happy about my request at all. I held an international driving license for five years! He wouldn't let me drive! I paid him 40 pounds for an hour and a half! What I got was 40 minutes drive at most! Then he would ask me to stop somewhere to talk for ages, telling me about his stories! I had to be very patient to listen to him! My last lesson before my practical test, I wanted to review all the different ways of parking and going through roundabouts. I expressed what I wanted to do. He looked at me and said you think we could do that within an hour and half? I said directly to him, yes, of course, if you don't talk that much. We ended up practicing driving in parking 3 times, parallel parking 3 times, reverse in parking 2 times. I sat in the car park in front of TJ Max and listened to him talking for the rest of the time! I paid you to learn to drive not to listen to you telling me all your wonderful life! And I complained to him about him being late and not giving me enough practice. He said his students normally wait for him outside of the house. I took five months of lessons from him despite being a driver overseas for 6 years! I didn't learn much from him at all! Of course I failed on the roundabouts in the last 5 minutes of my test. I'm a foreigner to this country. People I came across are very nice and devote themselves to what they are doing very well! I really like UK and of course, Lincoln. I wasn't going to write about what I went through, but I felt like I needed to do my bit to contribute to the society. I was too nice to say no to my instructor. But if you have come across with an instructor like this, remember say no straight away, he is wasting your money and trying to get you to spend as much money as possible on your driving lessons. I think if my instructor read this, he will know. Hope he can improve himself for other students! After all, I am just doing my bit to encourage the society to treat people better. I have already paid 800 pounds to him before I finally saw no hope on him. The way how he treated me, I hope it is not the way how he treated his other students. Read Less
