I’ve had a really bad experience with Alan as a driving instructor and think people should know before booking. He’s constantly on his phone during lessons, which is distracting and unsafe. He also brings his dog with him and will stop the lesson to let the dog out for 10–15 minutes, cutting into the time I’m paying for. He’s always talking about how he owns “20 bikes and 6 cars,” which just feels a bit unnecessary when I’m trying to focus on learning to drive. One of the worst moments was when his girlfriend (saved in his phone as “me bird”) rang him during my lesson, arguing with him about how he’d cheated on her and calling him a horrible person. Before that, he even tried to get me to block her on his phone. It was extremely awkward and completely inappropriate for a driving lesson. To be fair, Alan can come across as nice at first, but he can also be quite rude at times, and the overall experience just felt unprofessional and honestly a bit strange. My driving experience with Alan has been nothing but amazing, Alan is one of the most patient and calm people I’ve ever met and is so unbelievably easy to get along with and makes you feel at ease the second you get into the car.
