I completed my class 1 hgv licence on a 1st time pass thanks to east coast driver trainings very own phil, top bloke very patient and if there is an area your not confident with he will make you confident in it by focusing on that with guidance. I completed my CPC M4 and C+E driver training at ECDT in Norwich and it was a superb experience. Phil was my instructor whilst I was in the lorry and he was brilliant, he gave me all the guidance I needed to pass my test first time in a professional and respectable manner. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking at acquiring any type of special license. What I would also recommend is talking to these guys first before you talk to an agency who will book everything for you as it may work out cheaper and easier in the long run. Read Less

I cannot recommend East Coast Driver Training LTD enough! I’ve just completed 24 hours of intensive HGV training with them and passed first time, with absolutely no previous experience driving anything bigger than a 3.5-tonne Transit. I’ve now passed my Class 1 & 2 HGV qualifications and can drive articulated 44-tonne vehicles, which honestly still feels surreal! My instructor, Phil, was an absolute top guy from start to finish. He was incredibly patient, supportive, and encouraging throughout the entire process. I was extremely nervous going into this and genuinely didn’t believe I’d pass first time, but Phil believed in me from day one — even when I didn’t believe in myself. What really stood out to me was that he never rushed me or made me feel pressured. If I needed something repeated, he was more than happy to go over it again until I felt confident and understood everything properly. There were a few emotional and overwhelming moments for me during training, but Phil never lost patience or made me feel silly for struggling. He kept encouraging me, stayed calm, and helped build my confidence massively. The whole experience was honestly a rollercoaster of learning, mistakes, corrections, and achievements, but I genuinely enjoyed all of it. Phil even brought me breakfast one morning, chatted to me about his love for greyhounds, and taught me bits of local history while we were driving around — which I loved as a bit of a history buff myself 🤣 It made the whole experience feel really personal and comfortable rather than just “training.” All of these guys here are nothing but supportive and lovely, lots of encouragement from everyone I spoke too! Plenty of laughs too! I would 100% recommend East Coast Driver Training LTD to anybody looking to do HGV, bus, or forklift training — and I’d definitely recommend going directly to them rather than through an agency.
