I would totally recommend if you are looking for an intensive course. Both my girls have now been taught by Ian and his teaching is second to none. His teaching techniques are really good and both my girls found him pleasant and patient and both passed first time. Ian goes out of his way to fit in and around test times where he can. -Went from nothing to passing my theory & practical in 12 days -Passed my practical with the intensive course -It’s clear Ian has the ability naturally and from experience to cater for any and all driver and personality types; it wouldn’t matter if you’re stressed and have never driven or if you’re doing a top-up -You will get given teaching based on what’s needed, but as you progress so will your autonomy in what you want to practice, but Ian will keep you focused on what’s needed for the practical -I hate to say this be he is funny! Ian will Respect times where you need to focus and concentrate, but it is hard to have a bad day of patter with him -My only recommendation would to be to take the opportunity of autonomy regularly, as either you will have earned it and can grow from jt, or given it’s an intensive and therefore time sensitive Ian will instead suggest what he thinks you need to do, either way you will get where you need to be, but faster if you show desire to improve. Fantastic Course and Instructor. Before starting my course I was terrified of driving around a near empty car park. 5 Days of driving with Ian later and I passed my test first time. Ian makes you immediately feel comfortable and does his absolute best to ensure you a relaxed and composed at all points whilst driving, which was quite an achievement for myself. I came to Ian with a lot of (bad) driving experience and baggage. Whilst I had plenty of hours under my belt, my confidence was shattered and that was what drove me (see what I did there?!) to choose Nordrive when I decided to get back behind the wheel. For me, I not only needed someone to actually teach me how to drive, but I also needed my instructor to double up as a therapist. Learning with Ian not only developed my skills but transformed my attitude to driving. The initial week long course that I did was not only informative but hugely enjoyable. I didn't pass first time, or a couple of times after but this was through no fault of Ian and indeed a result of severe nerves that hindered my performance on the day. I have no doubt that when I took my first test after a weeks worth of teaching from Ian, that I had the ability to pass - it was only stupid mistakes that held me back. Despite being a learner that needed much more work than most, Ian stuck with me and continued to book me regular tests and schedule in recap lessons beforehand. I passed on Friday and I can actually say I enjoy driving now. If you are approaching driving with terror and bad experiences (or even if you're not!), I would wholeheartedly recommend Ian and his tuition. He managed to work a miracle with me. Read Less

Sorry it's taken me so long to write this review Ian. Had a bit of a busy year.... At the start of 2017 I found myself in the position to have to learn to drive with immediate affect for work. I hadn't been in a car for about 10 years and when I was in my early twenties I hated driving. I took the option of the full week intensive with a starter/getting the basics session at the beginning the week before. Ian was so good we ended up moving my test FORWARD because he felt confident in me. And I passed. I cannot believe it- I didn't tell anyone I was doing it and I went from a non driver to a driver in a week! I felt like I had so much support and experience I actually felt comfortable driving in all traffic conditions, day night, rain, wind, rush hour etc straight away because we had done them all! I started driving the day I passed and I have driven every day since. It's truly immersive and I think the most important thing Ian teaches you is confidence in yourself. I would say this course really suits people who put off driving for whatever reason when they were younger. Ian was very fun to spend that time with, it doesn't drag and I felt really comfortable in his company. Thank you Ian- I have become my company's delivery driver this year and have been driving a van now for 6 months. If you'd have told me that, after putting off driving for over a decade, I would be the driver at my company this time last year I wouldn't have believed you. Ian is a great instructor, his calm manner puts you at ease straight away. He's very good at building up your confidence as you develop your skills, giving constructive feedback before and after each lesson. The course is structured really well, with each session building on the last. It's intensive but not pressured - and that's mainly down to Ian's skills as an instructor. I am so glad I chose to go intensive as I passed first time. The Tuition is top notch and was really helpful for the way I learn. The car was a really relaxing environment and everything was done with perfect timing so you were completely ready for the test. I highly recommend an intensive course with Ian. He is a lovely man who put me at ease straight away. I was coming back to driving after having taken lessons and failed ten years previously. His focus was on helping me become a safe and confident driver not just to pass the test but for many years of motoring afterwards. I did pass the test without any minors and the examiner was very impressed. But more importantly to me I have become a confident driver who isn't afraid of parking or manoeuvres or any other aspect of driving and I am so much more independent now. Thank you very much Ian. Had an absolutely brilliant week with Ian. The first day i just lacked complete confidence but it soon grew with him. he is a a such a relaxing person to be around and made everything so much simpler to what my previous instructors had done. i honestly thought i wouldn't pass and had no hope in myself but his way of teaching is brilliant. Everything becomes so much more understandable and do able because of the way he teaches. really couldn't of asked for a more lovely helpful person to assist me with passing my test (which i did, first time! because of him) and i would recommend him to anyone who aren't very confident in their driving skills and what to do an intensive course. absolute miracle worker:) Thank you so much Ian for the confidence you've given me and the abilities you've passed on to me.
