I have always been very nervous on the road after being involved in car accidents when younger, therefore Martin had his work cut out with me, he was very calm and professional and even when I didn’t have confidence in myself he had it in me. Martin also taught my husband therefore it was a no brainer to contact him especially as I wanted to go the automatic route. It’s taken a while for me but the perseverance paid off and it was so worth it. The confidence I’ve gained is amazing from being scared when a car comes past me on the other side and not daring to go on the A14 without Martin in the passenger seat to now going it alone. Even when I felt I had hit a brick wall and I couldn’t give any more it all of a sudden changed again and I progressed further. Now I can finally get a lay in on a Saturday morning again. Thank you Martin for having the patience of a saint

I cannot thank Martin enough. He is a passionate and dedicated driving instructor. He takes the time to explain and show whilst doing so in a calm manner and approach. I found Martin to be very relaxed, always arrived early for lessons, didn’t clock watch during your lesson and never let me down.
Thank you once again, for not only helping me but giving me the confidence that I can do it.
I am relieved to have passed my test and being able to drive has given me a new found freedom. 😃.

Unlike others, he does not take out his emotions/upsets on the learner.
He has never, ever raised his voice at me.
He is so patient and so understanding.
A very thorough educator too! I learned so much, I was able to pass first time.

Martin has been an excellent driving instructor from start to finish. He is patient, professional and most importantly calm. He explained everything throughly. Thanks to all his support and guidance I went into my test fully prepared and passed first try. Altogether I would highly recommend Martin to anyone looking for a skilled and all round exceptional driving instructor.

Martin is an excellent teacher with clear communication skills and is outstanding at keeping nervous drivers calm when a situation occurs which causes them to feel under pressure. He is very patient and always highlights areas which need improving and how to do so. I hadn’t drove for 18 years due to feeling unconfident on the roads but after around 5 refresher lessons I am now able to drive without becoming very nervous as Martin spoke me through different scenarios and how to deal with them when they arose but also how to keep emotions down so that the driving isn’t affected. An excellent driving instructor; thank you Martin. My daughter is also learning with Martin and is progressing well.

Martin was recommended to me by my now Wife who also passed with him. Martin was a great instructor who was very patient with me transitioning from Auto to a Manual car. He Tailors lessons to your needs but happy to pick what is best for you if required. Very patient and supportive and open to any questions when needed. Highly recommended. I passed today on my first attempt at the practical test.

Martin is a very knowledgable, patient and skilled driving instructor. His teaching enabled me to pass my test with only one minor. Martin is highly professional, but also very friendly, and put me at ease from my first lesson with him. He was very flexible with the times of my lessons, and always responded quickly to any queries that I had. I particularly found his use of diagrams, maps and pictures of key roads and junctions in the Kettering area to be really useful, both for the test and for finding my way around an area that I have only lived in for a short time.
Many thanks to Martin, I would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for driving lessons in the Kettering area!

Martin is a very good driving teacher, on top of being very understanding and patient he is also very supportive and adaptive to the learners needs. Instead of just telling you what you did wrong he would carmly discuss with you and help you understand what it was that went wrong. If you're looking for an instructor Martin really is the best out there, no doubt about it. Would highly recommend him to anyone.

I would like to say a big thanks to my driving instructor Martin Ashford,who helped me pass my driving test on first attempt .He is incredibly patient and encouraging.He takes time to explain and shows you how you can improve.I feel that i have learnt skills that have not just helped me pass my test but also to start driving with great confidence.I would recommend Martin to all friends.

Fantastic instructor, gives clear instructions and not only teaches you to pass the test but also teaches you to drive safely beyond your test. Would definitely recommend him.

I have always been very nervous on the road after being involved in car accidents when younger, therefore Martin had his work cut out with me, he was very calm and professional and even when I didn’t have confidence in myself he had it in me.
