We can offer you a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere whilst you are learning to drive, with either our Male or Female Driving Instructors and you have a choice of Manual or Automatic driving lessons. We have had 1000s of passes over the years, and have had well over 500 passes in the last 2 years alone.

After learning in a manual car and not being able to get the hang of the gears I contacted Ray from Albany Driving School. From day one I felt comfortable with him and driving the car. After several test fails and taking a break from driving altogether, I contacted Ray again and started driving again in January. Today I am happy to say that I have eventually passed my driving test. I couldn’t of done it without him, he was always there to give me the confidence that I needed when I was doubting myself. I would highly recommend Ray and Albany Driving School 😁

I learnt to drive with Albany Driving school and passed my test successfully. I would recommend Albany to anybody that is wanting to learn to drive. My instructor gave me 100% of his time and focus and put in every bit of effort to get me driving confidently and ready for my test. Very reliable and always on time and never let me down, excellent!

Amazing instructor, very thorough with what needs done, patience of a saint, and explains mistakes properly. He knows my faults are parking that is all, so currently going over and over untill i perfect it and feel confident enough for my test soon. Could not recommend enough. :)

I spent a lot of money, learning to drive. However, Albany driving school were unable to teach me to do this. I was taught to physically drive the car but I was not taught the skills to tackle things ...
I spent a lot of money, learning to drive. However, Albany driving school were unable to teach me to do this. I was taught to physically drive the car but I was not taught the skills to tackle things such as cross roads and roundabouts. This made me always feel nervous to approach them. I was not given a selection of markers to carry our manoeuvres; this made it difficult for me to get them right. Too much time was spent on learning how to drive economically to try and save fuel and the instructor particularly focused on any negative driving rather than anything that had gone well. Additionally, I was rarely taken on test routes.
Since going with a new instructor, I am able to carry out manoeuvres safely with a range of markers to help me to do so. My instructor gives me positive feedback and explains points that I need to work on in depth. I now look forward to my driving lessons again and I’m hoping to sit my test soon.
Just wish I had not wasted money, as I feel my instructor was wasting my time and didn’t want to put me through my test in the end. I always felt like I was getting worse; not better.

Awful, was given an instructor who constantly got agitated extremely easily and shouted upon mistakes (which were made often, but I'd barely driven at that point so they were par for the course).

Awful, was given an instructor who constantly got agitated extremely easily and shouted upon mistakes (which were made often, but I'd barely driven at that point so they were par for the course).
He also got incredibly angry in the middle of my neighbourhood when I could not give him just £8 out of a £38 lesson (as I had forgotten to withdraw that cash) and claimed that he wasn't running a 'charity' despite me paying for the lessons beforehand; says a lot then when you get so vocal about something and then forget to take the £30 that I was WILLING to give you!
Sadly, I couldn't recommend this school purely for this teacher. He did a good enough job teaching stuff but his temperament was far from ideal; people learn at different speeds!
