My driving instructor Kash is fantastic. Very patient with me as when I started I was quite nervous, he developed a lot of confidence in me with driving. His lessons are well thought out and focus on areas that need work. We spend the whole lesson time driving which gives lots of chance for practice. Would highly recommend him as an instructor. I had such a positive experience with this company and my driving instructor, Ace. I came to him with only a month before my test and he agreed to fit me in for weekly lessons leading up to it, after I’d previously been learning in my own car with family. From the very first lesson, Ace was brilliant - honest, caring and incredibly observant. He picked up on little things I hadn’t even noticed I was doing wrong and made sure I corrected them. He was persistent in the best way, always focused on making me a safe driver. He made it clear I didn’t need to be perfect, but I did need to be safe - which really stuck with me. I’m quite an anxious person and don’t usually do well in test situations and I’ve never particularly enjoyed driving lessons. But Ace completely changed that. He made each lesson informative but also enjoyable, built my confidence and reassured me whenever I doubted myself. Awful experience, decided to take 10 lessons with rio driving school what a big mistake that was! My driving instructor was such a horrible man and made me feel so intimidated to the point of tears wish I had taken 1 lesson as I wouldn't have gone back hated every lesson I had. Been as I live in Walsall and had someone from miles away teaching me to drive he would tell me that it takes him a long time to get to mine which is pathetic as I could of had a Walsall based instructor from the rio team. Found this driving school on Google and took lessons with them based on the positive google reviews. BAD mistake. Kuli, my instructor that was 5-10 minutes late for almost every lesson, that had his availabilily (weekends and evenings) booked for weeks in advance so all I could get was daytime lessons and I had to take time off work. I thought it was me that was not improving so after I finished my block of prepaid lessons, I gave up on learning but my mother bought me lessons with a trustworthy national chain of instructors and I passed first time. It was only after I changed instructor did I realise how terrible my lessons with Rio were. They have completely wasted my time and money. Read Less

After attempting to learn to drive with previous instructors (to no avail), my partner bought me a block of lessons with Paul Fisher after reading reviews of Rio online. Me and Paul hit it off instantly, he was friendly, patient and made it easy to learn, always finding an alternative method to teach me should I be struggling to pick things up. Most importantly though, learning with Paul actually made me ENJOY driving! I knew after only a few lessons that learning with Paul would lead me to finally gain my driving license. Over the next few months he helped me to improve my driving skills at a steady pace and develop the confidence I needed to be able to pass my test at my first attempt. I believe that it is due to Paul's expertise and guidance, that I have succeeded in becoming a driver - something that, at one time, I thought was never going to happen! My experience of Rio Driving School is excellent. The teaching was easy to follow, and my instructor, Paul, always put me at ease as I was a very nervous driver to begin with.
