I had a blast with Nathan (and Katie)! Every lesson was fun and i thoroughly enjoyed learning to drive (and passing my practical test woohoo!) with them. I get really bad anxiety and Nathan was so supportive to me. He is a patient, kind and caring instructor and also has a great sense of humour! He has a very clear, calm and warm way of explaining everything and I felt my anxiety about driving dramatically mellow out and I developed confidence because of Nathan's reassuring presence, instruction and motivation. I cannot recommend Coopers Driving School enough. After years of putting off learning to drive, I decided to take a leap of faith at the age of 30. After multiple instructor changes and lack of progress, I knew I needed to find an instructor who was clear, concise, and most importantly wanted me to pass - and I found these qualities in Nathan and Caty! I had approximately four 6 hour lessons with Nathan and two 2 hour lessons with Caty. They were simply superb. Relaxed, clear instruction ... and enjoyable. I would highly recommend Nathan's intensive driving lessons to anyone. I deferred learning to drive until I was in my fifties, being very afraid of the possibility of hurting someone in an accident, until a new job made it a necessity. So I started lessons very tense, expecting to find it difficult and stressful, and with no idea even how to steer. Nathan put me at ease from the outset, broke down the skills into simple, clear sequences, and succeeded in getting me to enjoy driving ... as well as passing my test, of course. I really appreciated learning how to read the road and anticipate problems, seeing how Nathan's approach made him an incredibly safe driver while being relaxed and enjoying the experience. I had tried several times to learn to drive, but always had found juggling lessons around work and study difficult. So I was 37 and very unconfident when Nathan took me on, but his systematic, calm and patient teaching style got me through. I can greatly recommend home as a teacher. I came to the course with very weak driving skills and within 4 days Nathan was able to bring me to a standard where I feel confident and safe driving around on my own and I passed with only 3 minors. Absolutely brilliant. Nathan is a highly skilled driver with an in depth knowledge that he passes on in a calm and clever way. I would describe him as the ideal teacher; there's no looking-down-the-nose and no pressure. The lessons are immersive but not overwhelming, he definitely got the best out of me. Nathan tailored the teaching to me personally, picking out where my weaknesses were, insightfully explaining why and what I could do to improve - which is exactly what you want a teacher to do - and boy did I improve! Nathan is not only intelligent at driving, but intelligent at teaching - which is just as important. Sure, lots of people are good drivers, but Nathan has a fantastic way of explaining, comprehensively, how to become one. I had lessons with a different instructor when I was 17 and thought I was bad at driving because I didn't feel like I was making any progress - I did more in 3 hours with Coopers Driving School than I did in 20 hours with my first instructor. I would recommend Coopers Driving School to anybody who wants to learn techniques on how to drive confidently and safely for the rest of their life. Their pass rate speaks for itself. I booked a 4hour intensive driving day to give my son the confidence he would need to pass his driving test.He has had a lot of lessons and drives a car regularly however he gets nervous in a test situation, so I booked coopers based on past reviews to give him confidence. I paid £100 for four hours driving up front which was a big mistake. After an hour Nathan had managed to destroy my sons confidence by telling him how his other students were much better etc etc. He didn't ask my son anything about himself and was on his phone a lot and also gave him unclear driving instruction. After 2 hours he wanted a coffee break and drove to his house to have one leaving my son in the car outside, my son had nowhere to get a drink from and phoned me to say how bad the lesson was going. I drove behind for a while and my son was not actually driving the car as he was so stressed out by the lesson.Nathan then proceeded after the lesson to tell me how bad he did. My son has been in absolute tears by the experience. Not the confidence building lesson that i had in mind when i booked it.Read Less
