So I just passed my road exam today at the Santa Clara DMV. I'm so relieved I went with this company for a number of reasons. 1) I'm late to taking the road test (as in 26 years old) because I developed a lot anxiety about driving. This was the result of driving with overly anxious parents. I had Bill for all of my lessons and working with him helped to settle my nerves. He's very calm, even when you make a mistake, and extremely encouraging. 2) The receptionist Karla was super friendly and helpful. She paired me with a great instructor and helped me schedule all my lessons and my exam with ease.  3) I already knew how to drive before taking lessons, but I'm from upstate NY so the terrain is flatter and there's less traffic in comparison to California. Bill taught me how to drive in a range of environments, including windy, narrow paths, the expressway & freeway, and residential areas. There were also other useful lessons about parking uphill/downhill that I wouldn't have gotten back home. I highly suggest this company and I strongly suggest booking with Bill! Read Less

I had just recently finished taking lessons here and being able to obtain my driver's license!The instructors like Bill, for example, were kind, patient, always rooting for you to succeed. During one of my lessons on the road, I had a bit of a meltdown and was asked by the teacher to pull over so I would be able to calm down, take some deep breathes, and grabbed snacks and water (which he had in the car glove box) offering them to me if eating would help clear and ease my mind.I laughed and appreciated the offer but instead took the time to just sit, breathe and calm down from the adrenaline hitting me really hard in the stressful situation.As a blossoming adult, I had my self-confidence shot about driving for a long time due to individuals and family making assumptions that I would be a horrible driver.This driving school really stands behind you to support and teach you the ways of the road at your convenience while providing excellent teachers from all different walks of life. I am a little older and feeling "rusty".  Alex helped me get rid of my butterflies in 2 short hour lessons, 1 on Thursday and 1 on Friday.   He really showed me my strengths and weaknesses.  I feel more confident now.  All together, I would highly recommend Bay Cities Driving School. I tried this school on recommendation of my friend. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful for pretty much every appointment. I was not a fan of the first instructor who had a hard-to-understand accent and didnt help much by picking someone else up (a guy in training I think) and I can't remember anything he told me on this first lesson. Now Alex, my next instructor I stuck with all the way through, total "180." He had phrases, sayings and instructions that I still remember (got my license last December) and kept it simple and straightforward. I went with their "car-to-DMV test as well" which I felt was worth the price since I didn't have a car at the time and the time from his lessons to the test didn't not feel that long at all. Bad service. No people in the office. You talk on the phone and the operator who was a woman at the time she gave me the worst service. lost a customer. I will look for another school. I not recommended at all. Read Less
