A huge shout out to (Marisol the office manager), (Bravo the main instructor), (John W.B the lot lead instructor), (Don Gorge a instructor), (Mr. Steve a instructor), and (Mr. RT an instructor)
All of you guys are the best and may God bless you guys always for helping me and guiding me at getting my CDL Class A License.
Well, where to start??..
Honestly, speaking, if I can tell you my whole experience it wasn't as bad as many others claim on these reviews. Whether it's Google or yelp reviews.
My honest opinion about this Academy/school is that it has great potential. I was attending the Gardena lot and yes you could say that the surrounding areas we're not the cleanest or the safest when I started but in the last couple of weeks, man it has changed a whole lot. First of all, all the trash, and all the homeless people that lived in the surrounding areas have been completely run out by LAPD and the Sheriffs so it is a lot safer and a whole lot cleaner since they did show up with waste management to clean up the entire area. Other than that as far as the lot yes there is a couple potholes here and there due to all the consecutive maneuvers that all the students continue to practice on the lot so it's only normal wear and tear on the concrete, but they have been maintained and taken care of and as far as their trucks well I've been to three other schools besides CTDA and let me tell you this most other schools have complete junks and antiques as trucks. This Gardena lot has a whole fleet of semi new Freightliners. And that's not it. They also have Volvos and Internationals which they also let you maneuver in but the main truck on the yard is their Freightliners. Yes, a few of the trucks had minor issues but what people forget and neglect is that you have students who have zero driving experience not knowing what they're doing whom are driving these vehicles so that should explain for why they need maintenance often. The good thing about the school is that they always fix them instantly and if something else breaks down, they'll go ahead and fix it instantly as well.
Besides all that though this is a great school, they have a great curriculum and if you follow the steps, you will graduate within the month 100% guaranteed. All you need to do is put in the effort, pay attention and be patient. You can't just show up thinking you're going to get everything within a couple of hours because you won't.
So yeah, just follow the guidelines be patient take your time and remember No one is timing you take your time and make it happen (:
To anyone out there considering going to California Truck Driving Academy go ahead and consider it. It is a great experience and you will gain a lot of knowledge getting you ready to go on your trucking journey.

Went to the Santa Fei Springs yard and learned from the best. Professor Fernando, MMA assassin Eric, Hefe Bravo, OG Chuy, OVERWATCH Juan, and the A-TEAM. Passed on my 1st try with Ease. I coulda passed with a blindfold to be honest. Plenty of yard space and Fernandos permit class is GOLD. Plenty of trucks and world class instructors. Ask about me aka on the yard JAKEKNIFE.

Called and spoke with i believe a Tina. Very unprofessional for a quote. I explained to her my previous quote with byron and she said he's no longer affilated and that quote is no longer valid due to new ownership and rambled on how there prices are what they are and will stand. She was very rude and didn't have nice things to say about the previous owner. I called back and canceled my appoint and let them know i will not be recommending any one to this school. I highly recommend all students to go someplace else with these outrages price Company suck now !!!!

This is an excellent truck driving school. I attained my Class A license in 6 weeks. Previously I tried getting the license on my own while working for a moving company. I had access to a truck and a yard to train, however, I could not pass the test on my own.California Truck Driving Academy (CTDA) trained me to pass the following tests:Written TestPre-trip Inspection TestAir Brake TestHazard Material (Haz Mat) TestCombination Vehicle Endorsement Test (double & triple trailers)Bus Driver CertificationDriving TestI believe you need to be trained well on all these tests by a professional school. I attained all of the above endorsements in a short period of time.I highly recommend California Truck Driving Academy. Because of their skilledtraining I was able to obtain a high paying job in the truck driving industry.

I was part of a small class which was great because I got a lot of hands on training and a lot of the instructors focus was on me. Byron and James are very knowledgeable and great instructors. I passed my class a, class b both on the first time. They teach everything you need to know to get you your license. I had a great experience here at the academy from the classroom to the yard. Byron knows everything there is to the trucking industry, any questions you have will be answered. Great school over all. I will for sure recommend to friends and family interested in the trucking industry.

DO NOT GO HERE! The director, Byron Allen is a con man and the instructors, trucks and training yard are a joke. When I was there in May of 2018 all the instructors quit or took time off at the same time which left just one completely incompetent and lazy loser named James Jones to instruct at least 2 separate classes with 6 students each. Byron ran the classes in 4 hour shifts per day and you wouldn't know what time your shift started until he texted you really late the night before or super early in the morning. Can you imagine trying to get your 160 hours of state required training with just 4 hours a day; it would take forever! I tried to be understanding of the situation that he was going through at the time but all I got from Byron was excuses and then he tried to imply that I was the problem. At one point he even asked his millennial cousin with no real truck driving experience to help out by taking students out on the road. The guy looked like he was 16 and I heard horror stories from the other classes about near misses and driving over planters and breaking large tree branches. One student was so scared that she refused to get in the truck and drive! I should have known that Byron and his school was joke when I saw the picture of Obama proudly displayed above his desk! Don't waste your money, your best bet is to choose a big carrier that offers free training in exchange for a 1 year employment contract to get your class A and some experience.

I would like to thank Byron and his team for such a great experiance, very professional knowledgeable employees that want to help you and also have the patience. I took a refresher course since I have my CDL already and Byron knows this industry like the back of his hand. Trucks work great equipment is good. I couldn’t find any school in Southern California that has a set of doubles, his did. I am very happy that I went here and I will definitely pass his school around to friends and family. This is a great school to learn the trade! I signed up through helmets to hard hats, I received a phone call the same day from the school. The GIBIll payed for the school and gave me a living stipen while I attended, so all my bills were taken care of. The staff was very helpful and professional, signing up was very easy. Byron and his instructors do a great job at teaching you how to drive a truck and the skills portion of the job. The class room size was small so I had a lot of instruction from the instructor. I’ve heard from other friends at different schools that class rooms are usually packed and less wheel time. The instructors are very informative and provide a comfortable environment to learn . I recommend this school to every one I meet looking to get into trucking, Especially veterans the training is paid for through the VA!

I highly recommend California Truck Driving Academy. The staff are knowledgeable and patient, the facility is clean and professional. The instructors want you to succeed. You'll find work, as the job recruiters will be looking for you before you even graduate, because they know you've been thoroughly trained. Byron and his staff are particularly helpful to Military Veterans trying to use their GI Bill. If you're looking to learn with the best, California Truck Driving Academy is the way to go. They're reasonable, flexible and freeway adjacent.

Hands down the best there is! Not only is it the best choice, it is unfathomable on how well organized and supervised everything is. From hands on training with the best instructors in California, to getting to know them as well. It isn’t just any regular academy, but a life asset in which one gains the general knowledge along with the careeer to be set for life! 5 starts shouldn’t even be an option for this because it deserves 100000000. In all honestly the training from the instructors really gets you prepared for anything, along w the generosity of not only them but the director of the academy, it’s basically a second family! One will in no doubt achieve the goal of their license, but also go above and beyond due to the training. If you’re looking for a place to get your license, California Truck Driving Academy is the way to go.

I just compeleted my program at California truck driving academy. The instructors were awesome. Didn't make you feel like you were just a paycheck. They wanted you to get you license. The thing that I really liked. It was one instructor for 2 students for the most part. It was really cool didn't feel like I got forgotten about. And you actually get to drive the trucks until you feel like you are ready. They don't try and rush you to get you out. Really happy I came here to this academy. Do yourself a favor. And come here if your serious about getting your cdl

Thank you CTDA for making this an enjoyable experience. I am so glad I chose CTDA for my Class B training. Byron and Eric answered many questions even before I began the training. Tony and Rolando answered many more once I got to the yard and in the bus. I knew nothing about vehicles and I was kind of freaking out every day. They kept encouraging me and I passed all of my tests on the first attempt (4 written, air-brakes, pre-trip inspection, and drive tests). I really can't say enough about these guys. I'll be back to get my Class A.

Everyone in my class received their class A license and are all employed. All equipment is in great condition and learning materials are all current. It's not a school.....its an ACADEMY.

I couldn’t find any school in Southern California that has a set of doubles, his did. I am very happy that I went here and I will definitely pass his school around to friends and family. This is a great school to learn the trade! I signed up through helmets to hard hats, I received a phone call the same day from the school. The GIBIll payed for the school and gave me a living stipen while I attended, so all my bills were taken care of. The staff was very helpful and professional, signing up was very easy. Byron and his instructors do a great job at teaching you how to drive a truck and the skills portion of the job. The class room size was small so I had a lot of instruction from the instructor. I’ve heard from other friends at different schools that class rooms are usually packed and less wheel time. The instructors are very informative and provide a comfortable environment to learn . I recommend this school to every one I meet looking to get into trucking, Especially veterans the training is paid for through the VA!

I highly recommend California Truck Driving Academy. The staff are knowledgeable and patient, the facility is clean and professional. The instructors want you to succeed. You'll find work, as the job recruiters will be looking for you before you even graduate, because they know you've been thoroughly trained. Byron and his staff are particularly helpful to Military Veterans trying to use their GI Bill. If you're looking to learn with the best, California Truck Driving Academy is the way to go. They're reasonable, flexible and freeway adjacent.

Hands down the best there is! Not only is it the best choice, it is unfathomable on how well organized and supervised everything is. From hands on training with the best instructors in California, to getting to know them as well. It isn’t just any regular academy, but a life asset in which one gains the general knowledge along with the careeer to be set for life! 5 starts shouldn’t even be an option for this because it deserves 100000000. In all honestly the training from the instructors really gets you prepared for anything, along w the generosity of not only them but the director of the academy, it’s basically a second family! One will in no doubt achieve the goal of their license, but also go above and beyond due to the training. If you’re looking for a place to get your license, California Truck Driving Academy is the way to go.

I just compeleted my program at California truck driving academy. The instructors were awesome. Didn't make you feel like you were just a paycheck. They wanted you to get you license. The thing that I really liked. It was one instructor for 2 students for the most part. It was really cool didn't feel like I got forgotten about. And you actually get to drive the trucks until you feel like you are ready. They don't try and rush you to get you out. Really happy I came here to this academy. Do yourself a favor. And come here if your serious about getting your cdl

Man what can I say ! The whole academy here is great they have all the materials you need everything organized and clean ! I checked out a couple other companies and they weren't as nice as this place...

I checked out a couple other companies and they weren't as nice as this place right here ! They're very helpful easy people to talk to cool vibe makes you feel very welcomed. You couldn't ask for more they do more than needed! All you need to do is show up and pay attention you'll pass with flying colors! Call them up

Thank you CTDA for making this an enjoyable experience. I am so glad I chose CTDA for my Class B training. Byron and Eric answered many questions even before I began the training. Tony and Rolando answered many more once I got to the yard and in the bus. I knew nothing about vehicles and I was kind of freaking out every day. They kept encouraging me and I passed all of my tests on the first attempt (4 written, air-brakes, pre-trip inspection, and drive tests). I really can't say enough about these guys. I'll be back to get my Class A.

They will take you to take the test without being prepared but if you pass they will want you to take a picture with you and take credit if you think I'm laying ask anybody that you know that went to this school. CTDA is the best! Byron trains you for the road not just to pass the DMV test. The education is top notch and they leave no one behind. Everyone in my class received their class A license and are all employed. All equipment is in great condition and learning materials are all current. It's not a school.....its an ACADEMY.
