The instructor is super moody all the time, which is very distracting for me. Being so emotional on the road is simply dangerous. The instructor is always 5, 10 minutes late, which I don't think it's acceptable at this price. The communication is ineffective, the instructor wasn't teaching, but simply reciting textbook-style information. I have learnt more from watching a self-driving car drive. UPDATE: The business has reached out to me for an apology and a bribe to take down the review. I am not taking it because I believe I was the victim of the inflated rating to begin with. To be fair, the instructor was very nice on my first class, the quality declined after I bought and paid for 3 classes in advance. Lastly, It's easier to blame the student from a position of authority than to acknowledge one's own teaching shortcomings. Being impatient, shouting at students is unnecessary, disrespectful, unprofessional, and trauma-triggering, while the student is in an unfamiliar, anxiety-producing situation where they depend entirely on the instructor's expertise and safety interventions. We booked a lesson for my daughter, but the instructor never showed up. Didn’t call or say why. It took almost 24 hours to get ahold of anyone who could help. And while they offered to reschedule, it wasn’t for another three weeks. There are lots of other driving schools in the bay area. Choose one of those. Read Less

I took a couple lessons with Tony and a couple with Carrie before taking my road test. They we're both friendly and knowledgeable. They gave helpful tips that I didn't get from any family or friends I practiced with, and I don't think I would have passed my first time without the lessons. I highly recommend. Read Less

I booked a test day appointment with them. Firstly, they have a very good website. It is catered very well to the needs of a customer and is very well organised. Booking a lesson/appointment through the website is a cakewalk. Carrie was a very good instructor. Very friendly and patient. I was extremely nervous but she did calm me down. Very encouraging. We didn't have much time before the test but the few tips that she gave me for the test were really helpful. I could actually see myself using them during the test and wondering how badly I would have flunked had I not known these things. It worked really well for me (passed driving test in first attempt yayy :D ). I would highly recommend this driving school. I would highly recommend this school. I took a couple of lessons before my behind-the-wheel test there. Instructor Teresa helped me a lot to improve my driving style and cope with the test anxiety. I followed her advice and passed the exam. The school itself offers a great service: you can book lessons online, there is a big variety of pricing options, and you can also pay either before or after the lesson. The folks at BADA are professional, knowledgeable, friendly and easy to talk to. They respond to emails quickly and there are no "dumb" questions (trust me, I had a lot!) I passed my test on the first try and it wouldn't have been possible without the help from Bay Area Driving Academy! Read Less
