The Exceptional Night Class Experience: Instructor Mr. Braulio
Switching to the night class was the best decision I made, thanks entirely to Mr. Braulio. He is an absolutely outstanding instructor whose dedication makes the school worthwhile.
* Effective, Simplified, and Student-Focused Teaching: In just four hours with Mr. Braulio, I was able to fully understand and execute my air brakes and pre-trip inspection—tasks I couldn't master in two weeks of the morning class. He simplifies complex steps, helps students create personalized memory tricks instead of relying on rote memorization, and makes learning engaging.
* Focus on Student Success, Not "Money": Mr. Braulio’s passion is clearly the success of his students. He explicitly told us he cares more about seeing his students pass than the "money."
* 100% Passing Rate (to my knowledge): Unlike the struggles of the morning class students, I believe every student who has come through Mr. Braulio's class has a 100% passing rate at the DMV. He has an exceptional ability to teach manual transmission, making it easy and accessible.
* Supportive and Professional Demeanor: Mr. Braulio never yells, puts down students, or discourages them. He fosters a positive, self-affirming environment.
Mr. Braulio deserves a standing ovation for his dedication. He counteracted the negative experience of the day class and is the only reason I was able to complete my training successfully.
Conclusion and Warning to New Students
If you choose Western Pacific Trucking School, be prepared for a difficult and unprofessional school and a fee (around $500) to use their truck for failing for a re-test, and dealing with an instructor who will try to make your life miserable.
Mr. Braulio is the single saving grace of this school. If he is not your instructor, be wary, as others appear to be overly focused on power-tripping and do not prioritize effective teaching. Thank you, Mr. Braulio!
It's wonderful that I was able to have a instructor who created such a supportive and positive learning environment.effective teaching and true mentorship. He focused on:
* Growth Mindset: Emphasizing that mistakes are part of learning ("it's okay to make mistakes because that's how we learn").
* Encouragement and Belief: Giving students the confidence they needed ("you can do this, I believe in you").
* Stress Reduction: Using humor to manage frustration and keep the atmosphere light and focused on solutions ("comical funny joking frustration").
* Respect and Focus: Not judging students' pasts, but validating their current efforts and positive change.
A teacher who can maintain that level of patience, belief, and good humor, especially when students are struggling, makes a profound difference. Read Less
