We had the opportunity to utilize MasterDrive of Denver for our teenage son. The program was well designed, and he enjoyed the various sessions with the instructors all while getting valuable feedback. The staff was very friendly, easy to deal with, and always provided great communication for our upcoming sessions. Both of my kids have been through MasterDrive. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and provide good instruction. I feel that the staff is very detailed in their driving expectations and teaches higher standards than other schools. Thus, making my kids more aware of the aggressive driving culture in Denver and producing better, safer drivers. Each two hour driving session is conducted by a different instructor. I feel this eliminates complacency on the student as each instructor has a different style. Any simp can get their license, but I want my kids to be safe and know the harshness of the roads. We used Master Drive to teach our two oldest kids to drive and will use it for our two youngest as well. They were very well prepared and neither one of them has had a ticket or an accident since getting their license's 4-5 years ago. They have both stated that they used techniques they learned in master drive to avoid (sometimes narrowly) accidents that are waiting to happen. HIGHLY recommend! Read Less

Both of my kids went through Masterdrive courses and I highly recommend it for any new driver. It gives students the knowledge and confidence to handle many different driving situations. In the driving portion, they are great about giving tips and pointers, so that parents can help their new drivers work on different driving elements for improvement. My child just finished up the driving camp and the advanced driving camp this past weekend and she seems much more confident behind the wheel.  I wish I had sent her to their full program in the first place instead of a cheaper program.  Their staff is professional and work well with the kids on their skills and confidence.  I took the camp program 23 years ago and I cannot say enough good things.  My next driver will go through the full program instead of any others offered. We had a great experience with our older son. Mike was so helpful with all of the explanations and scheduling. The experience with our younger son has been a hassle. It has been very difficult to schedule the camps and trainings. We now have to drive across town to the Vandemere location for 2 of our trainings. This program is VERY expensive so I have an expectation that I will at the very least be able to schedule the trainings and driving test. My son is now taking his driving test at Drive Safe (They can get him in on May 17th instead of June 22nd!!). Read Less

Master Drive Rocks! I have enrolled all three of my children here. They are amazing and very good at preparing the kids for all sorts of road experiences. The driving course is such great experience for the teens. They feel much more in control and confident behind the wheel. It in priceless practice and experience! They also remind the kids of the importance of safty, and not having a phone handy in the car. My kids are great responsible drivers and the discount from the insurance because the program is so good is an added bonus! Both of my son and daughter have gone through this program and I have actually gone through a shortened program myself twice. They have an actual driving coarse on their property so students get real world experience in skid control and emergency maneuvers. My son has been driving for well over a year now and is doing really well. Our daughter just received her learners permit and I have already seen what the program did for her. I took her out to a snow covered parking lot a few weekends ago so she could practice breaking and turning in icy conditions. She did great! The program gives them much more confidence starting out so they fine tune their driving skills much quicker. I would recommend this program to everyone. Read Less

Masterdrive came highly recommended by numerous parents in our school group. After shopping around a bit, we selected this school. Instructors were professional and very experienced. Advice was gently provided and well heeded by my daughter. Daughter's confidence and skill grew visibly during and between sessions with the instructors. Weeks after learning to change a tire in our driveway, as directed by the course, we had to change a tire by the side of the freeway. My daughter's familiarity with the tools and process were invaluable, and impressed the officer who stopped to help. The course started with off-street instruction for those who have never been behind the wheel, and professed over several sessions to parallel parking and freeway driving. Each time, the instructors debriefed with me as to skill level and skills to work on. This course was totally worth it. We recommend it constantly to our friends and will be signing up our younger one in due time. Read Less

My oldest child just got done with their training at Master Drive, and although at first I was concerned because of the price, after I saw everything that he learned I couldn't be happier - money well spent! The defensive driving course is unbelievable and gives the new teen driver some very valuable skills. I also like that the kids get a number of on-street follow up lessons after the class and closed course lessons. The staff was great with my child, and I got plenty of follow-up from the instructors on how my child was performing during the training (emails, phone calls, and in person). Read Less

My two daughters have now completed Master Drive, and I can tell you that I am very satisfied. Honestly, at first, I had some people share some negative comments with me about this program. However, I noticed there was one common theme with those comments: that quite a bit of their arguments/dissatisfaction was due to an overall financial, work & play inconvenience for that family, not because of the value of the training or staff. Plus, I don't understand the ""scare tactics"" that some are using for an excuse. Let's face it people, you were shocked by the sticker price. I was at first, I'll admit it!! But is it worth it? Yes! Don't take someone's negative comments and run with them ... it is worth it. I promise. Bottom line is, price aside, I'm not sure that either of my girls would be here if not for this training and particularly the Skills training, it's awesome! Wake up people! Look at the average driver in Denver or Colorado. Your kids are being thrown to the wolves, and it only takes ONE bad split second to have something happen. Both of my daughters have been involved with some close calls. What is worth $800? Not your kids life or well-being? You'd pay for him/her to play sports, or that much on a family vacation, but not something that is this important? Wow. Read Less

My daughter just completed the Master Drive Program at the Lakewood office, and I have to say that I wasn't very impressed with their On Streeting Training Phase - two-on-one driving lessons (two student drivers, one driving instructor. One student drives. The other seats in the backseat.) For the amount of money you pay for the whole program, one would expect that each student would get individual attention when driving. Meaning one-on-one driving lessons versus two-on-one driving lessons. I raised my concerns with Master Drive about this and they told me they never heard of a driving school that only has one-on-one driving lessons. Well, once my daughter completed Master Drive, I found a driving school that offered one-on-one driving lessons. I enrolled my daugher in the Behind the Wheel 6 program at DriveSafe Driving Schools soon after she completed Master Drive. I wish I would have done more research on driving schools instead of going off of my family friend's recommendation; otherwise, I would have signed my daughter up for the DriveSafe Ultimate Safe Driver Driving Program with DriveSafe Driving Schools which is comparable to Master Drive's Teen Driver Survival program except DriveSafe Driving Schools On street one-on-one driving lessons makes their program better than Master Drive. I agree with other reviewers that Masterdrive is all about scare tactics both with students and parents. In addition it is true that they do tape phone conversations without your consent (isn't this illegal?). They are very difficult to deal with and I don't feel that the skills course gave my daughter that great of an advantage over other programs. They make no effort to make the classroom portion interesting, if students are bored they don't learn anything. I would not recommend them. Read Less

Considering it's twice the cost of other programs, I expected premium quality, but was disappointed. For half the money, my son could have had private lessons, but with Master Drive he sat in the back seat while another kid drove. Ouch! Staff wasn't friendly either. When we were a few minutes late to one of my son's lessons, they just left without him - for $800?! The range course was ok, but nothing special. My daughter will be going elsewhere. Read Less

I had checked out all of the options for driving schools for my teen drivers. We had considered the ""school option"" so that they could take it with friends. One of the coaches at Master Drive invited me to come and take a tour and see why they were so different than any other school around. We did and after seeing and hearing what they are training these teens to do I was ready to sign up. It is worth every penny to know my kid has been prepared better than I me when I got behind the wheel alone. You can't please everyone, but I tell all of my friends about Master Drive and will be sending all of our new drivers through their program. It was recommended by our insurance agent and he even gives a larger discount for Master Drive over other drivers education programs. There Teen Survival Course is amazing. My daughter is a graduate of Master Drive. Two weeks ago, she was driving on I-25 when someone merging onto the highway pulled so quickly in front of her they clipped the front of her car. She started to spin, but she knew what to do and was able to straighten the car out and keep from running off the road AND keep from hitting other cars. She told me afterword that she was able to do that because of the training she received with Master Drive. Just found out from a friend, who was disgruntled about their ""hard sell"" tactics that they tape record your phone conversations without your knowledge. More of the same from this scare tactic business. In previous years with previous chldren, we have encountered rude staff members, (after the sell, of course) We'll be sending our other children elsewhere. They run a decent enough driving schol but there are other options in Denver, and for far less money. Read Less

My daughter (17) went into this school feeling like she KNEW everything that could be taught and did not need the classes. I was not able to get her to drive because of her poor confidence in her skills. She came home telling us that she had learned so much and respected the power of the vehicle, learned so much more about the law and rules of the road. This may be a good or even great driving school. I will never find out because the SALESPERSON (they called ""Coach"") was SO rude and obnoxious I couldn't complete the call. He refused to give me any information with regard to their prices or program whatsoever. I was willing and able to spend up to $1000 on this program (this is what I have heard it costs...) but they will NOT get my money because of THIS person. Pity.
