I doubted my ability at first, but received subtle direction and encouragement. It empowered me, and helped me pass the teats and get my CDL on the same day! Thank you! Read Less

I attended Northern Colorado Truck Driving Academy this year from February third to February twenty-first to upgrade my commercial drivers' license from a Class B to a Class A. During those three weeks, I learned the basics of driving trucks with a manual transmission. The first week consisted mostly of classroom instruction; though we did also spend some time on their range toward the end of the week. Dave was our instructor and he was phenomenal. Once we were outdoors during the last couple of weeks actually spending time with the trucks (driving, shifting, maneuvering, pre-tripping, et cetera) my humble opinion is that there couldn't be better instructors. They were all thoroughly involved and invested in each of us succeeding. By the time our three-week course was complete, I was confident, albeit quite nervous, in my ability to pass the examinations required to earn my Class A CDL. The examinations can be broken down into three parts: a pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, and a driving test with one of the school's outstanding instructors. After successful completion of the examination on the following Monday, I immediately proceeded to apply for several truck driving jobs. Only a week later, I interviewed for several jobs and had the incredible opportunity to accept a regional job driving a flatbed that I'm super excited about. It's going to be an adventure of a lifetime, and it wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for such an exceptional truck driving school here in Fort Collins. I'm beyond thrilled to continue learning this profession throughout my career as I gain new experiences, earning money for my family along the way. What a blessing. I'm truly grateful. I'd highly recommend Northern Colorado Truck Driving Academy for an unparalleled course to begin a fulfilling new career. Read Less

Best decision to invest your time and money in NCTDA if Commercial Driving is your new career, or you've been away for years and need a good refresher. All the instructors know how to train, with patients and positive reinforcement. I am 53 and totally new to this. The 160 Hour 3 week CDL-A course seemed a little long before starting, but it was just right to build the skills and confidence for both the written test and especially the driving test. They gave us a list of companies that had hired their graduates in the past. I reached out to several the end of the second week and all were interested in talking to me. I past my CDL test Tuesday morning, got my license Tuesday afternoon. Interviewed with two companies Wednesday and accepted an offer Thursday. First thing Monday morning was a pre-employment driving test with full pre-trip inspection in one of the company trucks, which was a different than what we had at school. But, I had enough of skill and confidence to make the adjustments and do very well on that test. All the Drivers at my company made over $75K last year even though part of the year was slow. (My Dad always told me to buy the best and I'll never be disappointed, he was right yet again.) You won't find better CDL training in the Colorado region. I am very thankful to everyone at NCTDA for all the fantastic training!!! Read Less

I was very happy with the NCTDA after getting my CDL. My instructor was Nick, who is also their director of training. He was very good at explaining things and made me understand a lot, really fast. He was very knowledgeable and a fantastic instructor. Their trucks were new, clean and worked well. They had good working relationship with the CDL examiner so meeting him was less intimidating and they prepared me well for what maneuvers he would have me do. Overall it was well worth my money and I'm very harpy I choose to work with the NCTDA. Highly recommended. Read Less

I'd like to say that NCTDA was a positive learning experience for me. The preparation for the written and driving exams was extensive, and made taking both of the test relatively easy. You do have to put in the time to learn, but if you do you will be well prepared. I'd also like to mention that Nick and his staff, that's you Ryan, were both friendly and willing to go the extra mile to see that you get a positive and well rounded experience. I'd like to also mention that there was a mix up with my permit that was due to the DMV, and that Nick went beyond the measure to see that I was able to test without waiting. I highly recommend NCTDA to anyone that is serious about getting their CDL. Read Less
