We signed up our son for the driving course here, we opted for the in person class experience with 6 hours behind the wheel driving. I can't say enough good things about the staff. My son struggled a little with some of the driving instructors but I think that's normal, right? He's 16... Anyway, the in person class instruction was perfect, my son passed the permit test - first try! Then we did the 6 hours driving in 2-hour increments. One instructor - Justin-was so good with my son, encouraging and light-hearted. Thank you Justin! Ok, I'm long winded, sorry. After our 50 hours of driving my son took the driving exam with affordable as well. Passed - first try. I know that as a mom I had to work with him over the course of time but affordable made the license part very easy. Always answering their phone, calling back missed calls, responding to emails very timely! Providing an abundance of information. Where do they find staff like this? They are truly one of a kind. After recovering from a year of health challenges, not driving during this time - I wanted to refresh my driving skills & confidence. Affordable Driving School was the answer. I took the 2 hour Adult Driving course with an instructor, while I did the driving. It was perfect & the instructor, Mr. Salazar, had great expertise! He was professional, easy to understand, giving clear instructions & great safety tips. He made the whole process easy & pleasant. WHAT A SCAM !! BEWARE of this operation. In my opinion Affordable Driving School  is set up to do nothing but take your money.  (Cash Please !) My son (20 yrs old and Chemical Engineering student) needed a driving test to get his license. Since the State takes weeks to schedule he went here.  Jason Salazar (apparently the owner) failed him for being too cautious. WHAT !!    He also FAILED the guy before my son .  Then Jason Salazar tried to sell my son lessons.  Do you see how this works ?  You pay $ 50....you fail....you come back with more money.  What  a SCAM !!!!   When I asked the owner - Jason Salazar how many people a day he FAILS (after he takes their cash)  he hung up on me. I would highly recommend finding another driving school. My son had a horrible experience here (Aurora, off of Gun Club branch). When I tried to discuss my son's experience (one where he felt stupid at the end of the interaction) the instructor, Jason immediately became defensive, turning the conversation around to blame my son (who did have some blame in the situation, however he is 16 and the instructor by age, if not temperament, is an adult).  Rather than coming to a peaceful resolution, he threw me out of the office. I've never been in a situation where I've been treated in this way.  His immediate defensive reaction says to me he either has an anger problem, or there may have been truth in my son's statement (or maybe both).  Some of the examples of how he spoke to or treated my son (as reported by my son - he's 16 so may not be the most accurate reporter, however given my own experience with this instructor, I'm siding on more accurate than not): First day of class I was called in to hear my son and the friends he was taking the class with were misbehaving - none of the kids realized how badly they were doing, in fact did not know I was being called in to talk about discipline, but they were told to get me to discuss the schedule. I think that yes, the kids should have behaved better, but if it's a problem, separate the boys, talk to them, don't surprise them later with threats of getting kicked out of the program before trying to manage them - really poor classroom management (in retrospect, probably not a good idea to have my son take a class with his friends). Before he took the written test Jason said, "when you fail this test, you aren't allowed back here to retake the class" (he passed missing only one on the written exam).  During the driving lesson, Jason was condescending, pointing out where the steering wheel was, brakes were etc. He told my son how irresponsible he was (and he is, we're working on it) because he lost his permit. He accidently brought his dad's old temporary license because he grabbed a paper that looked like his temporary permit - he wasn't trying to "pull one over" on anyone, it was a mistake (one made because to be honest we don't have the most organized of households), later during my interaction with Jason, he accused my son of being unethical rather than to deal with my complaint of how he made my son feel. Again, I would highly discourage you from using this company. Not everyone has the temperament to work with teenagers (I have two and I want to stick a fork in my eye half the time). Because I always want to end a criticism on a positive note, my son had great experiences with Gil, and Kelsey. I signed my son up for their 6 hours of training and I am am no longer to scared to drive with my son in fact he has taught me some valuable lessons :0)I would say the only thing that was kind of inconvenient was the schedule, and even at that we understood because it was just a busy time of year and that was my fault for trying to get everything done last minute! All in all they were great to work with and very personable and flexible with our schedule. I will be sure to bring my youngest to them when he is old enough! Read Less

Don't do business with this company.  Affordable means that you can afford it but the customer service is horrible.  Trust me, it's worth it to pay a little extra and work with a reputable company. Gil is not a nice guy.  He's an ass! Read Less

I sure hate to disagree with Erins review but I came away thinking this was a low budget operation. Gil's wife set up our first drive and then called and canceled. I stopped by to see why and Gil got mad and wanted to settle it outside, he later apologized explaining that he is Hispanic and get's excited. His words not mine. My kids first lesson included a stop at Petsmart so the instructor could get some dog food, yes they showed it to me. I'm sure glad I could pay them to go shopping. For the second lesson the instructor was going to take my child on the highway until I pointed out that the Dodge Neons tires had the cords showing through and I didn't want them going highway speeds due to the fact that the vehicle shouldn't even be on the street. The last lesson went OK, Gil seems like a nice guy but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Just my opinion Read Less
