Parents of daughters, beware. If you have a young daughter, I recommend not allowing her to take any lessons here.
My daughter, who attends Trumbull High School, is currently taking driving classes with Knepler Driving School. Her instructor's name is Howard Knepler. He appeared overly excited to meet my daughter. I wasn't comfortable the first day, but assumed I was being overprotective.
After her second lesson, my daughter told me Howard spoke to her about massaging his niece and how she removed her top, causing him to feel uncomfortable. He then commented on her size, mentioning how he doesn't like skinny girls, and made comments about girls sitting on his lap and preferring girls "with meat."
I was extremely shocked and immediately thrown for a loop. We called the driving school and asked that this be addressed. They said he would no longer be her instructor, and he would be replaced with a female instructor, in addition they also gave us a free class.
My daughter was in class today talking about what happened to her, and her classmate mentioned having a very similar experience with the same instructor. My daughter's classmate said their conversation was also inappropriate. In addition, my daughter's classmate also shared that her friend had classes with Howard, and he placed his hand on the young woman's thigh. As a concerned parent, this news is extremely horrifying.
This man is a predator, and who knows how long this has been going on? As a concerned mother of three, I feel as though I would be doing my community a disservice by not informing you all. We need to protect our children.

They offer the required online classes which Mr. Knepler teaches himself. And if you do your hands on driving classes with them, your teen can take their permanent driver’s test in this location using their car instead of DMV.
Our 2nd teen is learning to drive through Knepler. Their staff are pleasant to deal with. Their instructors are patient and awesome. Their team is great with reminders, answering questions, guidance, and what to expect. I highly recommend this driving school! When it’s time for our daughter to learn how to drive, she will go here as well.

I lost my right leg last year and i have not been able to drive since my amputation. I wanted to drive but did not find a good, caring, and affordable driving school around Greenwich CT. Then I found Knepler Driving Schools in Monroe CT, it is about an hour from where I live, I decided to stay for a week in a hotel close to the school so I didn’t have to go back and forth everyday. I wanted to concentrate and focus on this new journey of my life. I made an appointment for my driving evaluation, that is when I met with Howard Knepler, he is the owner of Knepler Driving Schools, they have been in business for more than 67 years. He tested my vision and cognitive skills. It was determined that i needed to drive with my left foot. I was very impressed about his knowledge and his kindness, he treats his clients with respect, he is very assertive and lets you know in a non condescending way when you are not doing a correct action. His secretary Sandy is very sweet and a kind person, she is very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend Knepler Driving Schools and Howard, you will be in the best care possible. To enhance safety and confidence, the driving school utilizes dual-controlled cars during lessons. I completed the classes and I can now drive with my left foot, my car will be adapted with a left foot gas pedal accelerator. Do not look any further for a Driving School, they are the best!

SO glad I picked this place. The on line classes were very easy to accommodate my daughters crazy schedule. Joe was her instructor that was wonderful!!! He made her comfortable answered any questions and really prepared her for the test. Parent class (that i was dreading) turned out very nice, Howard made it funny to keep us all interested. My daughter is now driving!!! ugg.... thanks Knepler!

Knepler Driving School is by far the best driving school in the country. I cannot say this from experience, since this is the only driving school I have attended and earned my drivers license with. But what I can say is if you are in the search for a great driving school, this is the one. Excellent staff, great driving lessons, friendly family-like atmosphere, not to mention the great deal of knowledge that the average driving school does not match.

This driving school helped my daughter obtain her driver's license through their patience and skilled teaching reducing her anxiety. I would highly recommend this school especially Howard Knepler.

As an educator, I must say that Howard and his team are amazing. I cannot thank him for the time and work he put into my son James. Bob his driving instructor was excellent and Sandra at the front desk, a blessing. You can go anywhere and maybe like me, you think that after teaching three other kids you got this...NO WAY!! Howard and his team taught me and James a thing or two!! I am grateful to everyone there and I pray James always honors the lessons he was taught at Knepler!

Best driving school in the United States no doubt about it. Highly recommend taking the full program to become an excellent driver as I have become. The driving instructors are absolutely magnificent! Up to date with the Connecticut state manual and make sure their students completely understand the laws while driving! I would highly recommend this place. Shout out to Howard for the incredible in class lessons making it completely comprehendible and Bob for teaching me throughout my 40 hour driving course!

Knepler Driving School provides the best and up to date drivers education a driver can get. The best part is the flexibility you get with yours schedule. I can honestly say they produce safe drivers. Everything you can learn about from fixing your mirrors to road safety, this school provides the correct information. This all from a student that took part in the full program and now have my license.

I took driving instructions in 1957, (I was 17), Sy Knepler was my instructor! I have been driving almost 70 years, 17 as aSchool Bus Driver & I have an excellent driving record.

Great indepth instruction in class and behind the wheel. Taught me many on the road skills; k-turn, lane change, etc. Overall, a great and straight forward program.

The driving laws in Connecticut have changed since I got behind the wheel. The instructors at Knepler Driving Schools keep up with all the changes new instructional techniques. I can't say I'm not nervous about having my kids on the road. But I feel better, knowing they have the tools to stay as safe as possible.

Con artists! Do not fall for the $500 gift certificate that you can purchase for $250. It is a total rip off!. Even though it says you are buying a gift certificate they will not apply it the the course you need. Bottom line they will give you $50 off the package you need. This should not be advertised as a gift certificate. It is deliberately misleading. I do not want my daughter trained by con artists.

I just got my license at Gary Knepler and it was the best driving education I could've asked for. My friends all took other programs and barely learned anything. I am confident that I learned a lot through this program. There is a lot of work but in the long run, it is worth it. My favorite part was that I am able to pick my own class times. I was still able to play sports after school. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is looking to get their license.

They tried real hard to sell me a ridiculously expensive package that cost almost $2,000!!! They will try to confuse you - don't let them. Just get the bare minimum required for CT, which is 8 hours of driving instruction, not the 40 hours they will try to sell you!

Knepler Driving School is by far the best driving school in the country. I cannot say this from experience, since this is the only driving school I have attended and earned my drivers license with. But what I can say is if you are in the search for a great driving school, this is the one. Excellent staff, great driving lessons, friendly family-like atmosphere, not to mention the great deal of knowledge that the average driving school does not match.

Knepler Driving School provides the best and up to date drivers education a driver can get. The best part is the flexibility you get with yours schedule. I can honestly say they produce safe drivers. Everything you can learn about from fixing your mirrors to road safety, this school provides the correct information. This all from a student that took part in the full program and now have my license.

The driving laws in Connecticut have changed since I got behind the wheel. The instructors at Knepler Driving Schools keep up with all the changes new instructional techniques. I just got my license at Gary Knepler and it was the best driving education I could've asked for. My friends all took other programs and barely learned anything. I am confident that I learned a lot through this program. There is a lot of work but in the long run, it is worth it. My favorite part was that I am able to pick my own class times. I was still able to play sports after school. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is looking to get their license.
