Rae is great with the students. She is constructive yet gentle in her driving feedback. She helped guide us as parents on what to work on with each child by her next driving lesson. I was told that I’d get my money back ($500) since I signed up, went to 2 classes, and had a poor experience each time (both instructors were very late, 1 of them played “categories” with us and I personally did not feel I was learning whatsoever.) This was back in either July or August. I haven’t received a check even though I’ve called countless times and have been told countless times that it will be sent out by Mike’s “book keeper.” I am very dissatisfied. Read Less

The customer service at the North Haven site is extremely poor. The voice mail is constantly full, the classes are cancelled with no prior notice and when the classes are scheduled to end the doors get locked and you can't enter to sign up for the driving test even though the office light is on and the instructors car This simple process of just signing a form is extremely frustrating. I'm not sure how they can stay in business with these types of issues. Read Less

This review is for Rae's in North Haven, but it's the same business.  I can't believe there aren't any other reviews here.  We chose this school because everyone goes to Rae's and it's convenient.   The following comments are my experience, but I also speak for many, as they have also had the same difficulties.  It is impossible to get through on the phone to make on-road appointments and setting up your driver's test.  Even if you're able to leave a msg (which is quite an undertaking in itself) good luck waiting for a call back.   This has gone on for weeks.  I just saw in one of the local papers there's a driving school opening up at No. Haven High with classes after school.  Finally, another option in town. My Daughter just passes her driving test on her first attempt. I called Mike who runs the school last night and almost wanted to reschedule her test but before I could, he offered to pick her up at 9 and give her a 2 hour lesson and she said it was because of this that she passed. Our fault as she started classes in August and missed some which wereater made up so Rae's did prepare her but we let to much time go by. They are the best in the area and Mike runs a great school.
