I've been a student here for about a year and a half now, and I can totally vouch that this is hands-down the BEST school in the Northeast Florida area if you're looking to learn things like auto, diesel, marine, RV, HVAC, welding, CDL, or computer/networking stuff for jobs in those fields. It's really top-notch! 🤩 This school isn't really set up to turn you into a Jedi Master the moment you finish. What you *will* get is a super solid foundation – something awesome you can build on once you're out there doing your thing in the real world. Plus, you'll actually start off making more money than if you hadn't come here at all! 💰 When I was trying to figure out if I should go to J-Tech or not, I actually found this company in the industry that had its own free two-year program! The thing was, they got to pick what specific area they'd teach you, and after those two years, you'd finish up as an APPRENTICE. Get this... When I asked them what level I'd be hired at after finishing my J-Tech program, they told me I'd be almost at a MASTER Technician level! That's because I'd have trained in a bunch of different specialties. From the outside, the facility looks pretty small, but wow, it's actually HUGE once you get inside! I checked out other schools, and none of them even came close to having the amount of space or equipment this place has for their programs. Plus, they've got their own gym right there, and a canteen that's loaded with tons of food, drinks, snacks, desserts, and even ice cream! How cool is that? 😋 It's really awesome how much the teachers and staff GENUINELY care about everyone! The teachers are even willing to come in early or stay late to help you out one-on-one. Plus, the staff is super supportive of your learning goals, especially when it comes to the challenges of being a working adult or a parent. They've TOTALLY got your back! 😍 The only spot I see for improvement is with the teachers. This includes keeping the awesome ones around and also evaluating new ones for their teaching skills. Some really fantastic teachers aren't around anymore, and while some of the newer teachers know their stuff inside and out, knowing a lot doesn't always mean they're the best at actually teaching it. 🤔 Sometimes you might notice some of the newer teachers just reading off the slides, which we could totally do ourselves. But remember, it's also on YOU as a student to jump in and contribute too! When I notice a newer teacher having a bit of a tough time, I step up and pitch in more. I also make a point of asking them to share some cool stories about their experiences. It's great because it really grabs everyone's attention in the classroom and makes learning way more exciting and enjoyable! ☺️ We all have the power and responsibility to be a leader in our own unique way. And guess what? This school is the perfect place to help YOU build that skill and then take it with you into your career! 💪 Read Less

This is a CDL program review. I am really happy that I came to this school for a Class A CDL and am looking forward to trying to get into their diesel maintenance program once my contract is completed with the Trucking Company that sent me to this school. If you have the opportunity to attend here is some advice bring sunscreen, an umbrella can be helpful in summer (you spend half of your day practicing backing maneuvers on a huge slab of blacktop. I didn't expect this and got burned, so heads up. ) Also, if you can try to register here on your own rather than through a trucking company. Why? Because when you do get hired by the trucking company you will earn more than if they put you through school. (Ask OneStop Career Centers about a WIAA grant, or Y.O. program if you are currently unemployed, I saw others that did this and it was genius, they do not have to repay their grant and are not contracted to a company as I am) Also the classes are smaller if you enroll directly. The evening classes are the envy of the school because at this time, they are very small and often students have a truck to themselves to practice on throughout class time as opposed to taking turns. This isn't guaranteed because who knows how many may be enrolled when you go, but this was the case when I went. Do this if you can. I appreciated the Instructors there. I learned so much more than just driving a truck. They taught me about being a TRUCK DRIVER. They gave me insight into how to stay safe. Each teaches you something that you take with you. As in any situation different teaching styles will work on some and not on others so each student was able to find a few that made sense to them, but they may be different than the ones that made sense to me. We all learn differently. I would thank Ms. Hill for giving me confidence as a female driver and teaching me how to correct myself on alley dock. I would thank Ms. Robinson for teaching me "Right tighty Lefty Loosey" when I am alley docking. I can't tell you how much that helped me. Mr. McCrone taught me how to parallel park like a champ. (Seriously, learn this from him) I enjoyed spending time in Mr. Shaheim's alley dock area and I think he is the one that finally got me able to do it the right way. Many tried. That was hard for me. He is so much fun he really makes you forget that you are standing outside in the blazing sun. I learned so much from everyone, but I think that Mr. King and Mr. Williams had the greatest impact on my driving and shifting and really taught me to respect that truck and how to be safe in it. If you want to learn the extras, like how to survive snow storms in Montana- just listen to what they tell you. They really put their heart into their students and their jobs and are great assets to those of us trying to learn. You will learn on excellent equipment, if you have a problem they will help you. They work hard to get you to where you want to be. Give them a shot. They have earned my recommendation, and I earned my CDL. Just like they promised. Read Less

The truck driving school is A1 from top to bottom. If you show dedication and a willingness to be coached up, this school will put you into a great life changing experience. It starts with Mr. Ricks who oversees everyday operations. He truly cares about your success. When people had home issue problems I seen this man hug a guy amhe didnt even know telling him stay focused clear your head, Im here if you need me. When I passed everything in school on the first try you could see his true passion of him that he cared and was happy. The guy who really brought the best out me was Mr. Lee Spurlock, who challenged me in the classroom to be great and obtain every piece of information that I could. Just by me listening to his words i breezed through passing everything in the first try. On the pad and on the road Mr. Green and Mr. Whitr taught me valuable info to pass my road test giving me excellent info to be ready for the road. Mr. Williams and Mr. King polished my driving skills giving me a sense of that truck driving swag. Ms Hill taught me a key step which is knowing how to fix yourself in every maneuver which help me pass my pad test with a breeze. Last but not least Ms. Robertson has my backing at a crazy ridiculous level and I couldnt thank her enough because it starts with a "straigh back". Best decision I made going to Jtech. They did so well training me that the day I finished orientation, I was shipped out on the same day after I graduated orientation. 5 stars from me. Thank you Jtech Read Less
