I would definitely recommend touching a motorcycle or at least watching a video of the basics on a motorcycle before coming to the class just to help yourself out. If not, the instructors are absolutely the best and definitely know what they’re talking about. They start you off day 1 with the basics of where everything is at and what exactly each thing does and when you’ll use them. You’ll show up basically riding one already and by the end of the day you’ll feel more confident to be on a bike. Day 2 was where the fun really started. You’ll learn how to go over obstacles, swerve, emergency brake, when to brake and how to safely do it around corners, etc. all life saving skills that you will need. It is fast paced because you only have 2 days, but as long as you listen and understand what they’re telling you, you will be able to pass the skills test by the end of Day 2. You’ll be surprised as to how far you get in just those 2 days. Definitely worth the money! Immediately the day after I pass the course I hopped on my ninja 500 and felt way more confident to be on it. I also had to use the emergency brake immediately in the parking lot while I was practicing because a call pulled out right in front of me! Without the course I for sure would have freaked out and dropped the bike. With the course I knew how to smoothly use my emergency brakes and remain calm. Read Less

I had an excellent experience with Jacksonville Motorcycle Safety Training. The instructors were highly knowledgeable, patient, and focused on safety while keeping the class engaging and practical. They explained both the classroom concepts and riding techniques clearly, making it easy to understand even for beginners.
The hands-on training was especially valuable — the exercises were well-structured and helped build real confidence on the bike. The environment felt supportive, and the instructors genuinely cared about improving each rider’s skills.
Overall, this course significantly improved my riding ability and safety awareness. I highly recommend Jacksonville Motorcycle Safety Training to anyone looking to start riding or sharpen their motorcycle skills. Read Less

The class is a good fit for the motcho biker to the average Joe. Testimonial, I was afforded the privilege of taking the JMST class last weekend at the Regency mall. I have to say it was an excellent experience all around. I was very impressed that the instructors put so much care into their lessons on riding. I genuinely felt cared for throughout the two day experience. I had already purchased a bike prior to taking the class, and had cheated a bit learning to ride in my neighborhood and so on. That was a mistake, but now that I took this course I feel extremely confident on my rides. Every part of the class helped greatly. Also, having good “o” Jimbo teaching the class the pitfalls of what to look for, prior to buying a bike was amazing. From his pointers it does appear I did well for myself (glad I now know that) but his information would have been instrumental in finding the right bike at a good price. I am quite sure that lesson isn’t a part of the state standards, but impressive because it showed me how much they both truly care about their riders. New Riders: Don’t waste your money at Harley-Davidson, you don’t need to pay money for a three days sales pitch when you have such great instructors here in the local community. I watched them turn people with zero knowledge about a bike, to a female rider passing the riders test with a perfect score. I am Amazed!!!!
Sincerely,
The New Experienced Rider,

I have to be honest, I grew up riding motorcycle, so when I found out I had to take a 15 hour course to get my license in FL, I almost yacked. Then I researched every possible option to shorten that time. I asked DMV and local bike shops and even called other towns for any other way, but there wasn't. Here's what I found:
1. 15 hours is min requirement - can't get around it, even if you have ridden for years (need to change FL regs for that)
2. This place is by far the best option.
3. They get it done in two days. By comparison, Adamec Harley, which is promoted everywhere for their safety course takes THREE days because they spend an extra day selling you on their stuff. To me, the extra day off work was not an option. I was dying with the minimum and didn't need to add more time!
4. Jim, Steve and owner were awesome! Great guys who made the experience so much better. Thanks guys! Even the owner hung with us for a while. Great guy! They really care- it shows. small company mentality, which is great. Good stories and advice to learn from too that doesn't come in a book.

Just took the basic motorcycle training course and passed. (09/18/2016)
I had low-moderate knowledge of riding before hand, and their class is hands down the safest and rider friendly course in Northeast Florida. The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional and made the environment very conducive to learning. They demonstrated each skill to us and went over every aspect of the course slowly and detailed as to make sure we understood what we were learning and what we would be practicing. The bikes they had were easy to learn on and great examples for actual motorcycle components.
If you are on the edge of taking a course, take it with them, they allow you to return as much as you want to develop your skills and hone your abilities as well as if you don't pass (you can return as much as you want to learn more and attempt again).
I highly recommend this course, wouldn't go anywhere else !!! Read Less
