I took the class not knowing how to ride a motorcycle. The class I paid for was from 730am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday. The practice time was shortened significantly on both days. I did not feel comfortable due to not enough practice time and was told I had to take the driving test. I unfortunately failed the driving part and was told to come back to test again. I tried to reschedule but the Tampa location was closed for a few months. I still do not have my endorsement and it was a complete waste of money. I do not recommend this place. Read Less

I signed up for the class that was to have a discount for seniors and veterans. when I did sign up over the phone, they told me the discount was given at the class. NOT TRUECalled back and they were to run it by Joe and a credit would be on the way. NOT TRUEI’m sure the class was meant to be informative. Unfortunately we listened to numerous, no hours of unrelated stories about stuff that was meant to impress the women in class. The Instructor had knowledge, but I felt he held it so he had time for his unrelated stories. Bikes you ride and equipment were substandard and in poor running condition and they did service warm water for your day and one half out door training. Signup for this class if you want a lot of laughs, but short on information. Read Less

I took the course this past weekend and it was a GREAT experience. I'm somewhat socially uncomfortable so wasn't looking forward to being in a classroom and on the range with a bunch of people I didn't know but I can honestly say that it was much better than I could have hoped and they got through the key points much faster than anticipated and we were done in about 2/3's of the time quoted. Will was great on the range, taking extra time with a guy in our class who seemed to be struggling - you can tell he genuinely cares about his trainees. The only somewhat negative (not really) feedback I would give is that they should somehow break up the classes into true beginner (no riding experience) and intermediate (some or lots of riding experience) classes. I've ridden before and had experience but was constantly slowed down by others in front of me who obviously weren't experienced/comfortable on a motorcycle or couldn't follow instructions properly and so I didn't get the full value out of the riding portion of the class in my opinion. Even considering that, I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to get their motorcycle license (or who want to brush up on their knowledge/skills) as it's the cheapest and best quality course in the area. Would give 10 stars if possible. I had Steve as my instructor with a class of 8 including me. He went through the book with us patiently and made sure we were clear on every aspect of riding theory before we first mounted our bikes. Classroom experience was stellar. When it was time to start practicing on the bikes they were pretty solid albeit beat up which is to be expected in a training class. Some bikes had damage to things like the lights or dents on tanks but they worked better than expected when you see how abused they were. Anything that wasn’t comfortable or working properly Steve promptly fixed and spent time making sure you were good (for me the clutch was a little far because I don’t have long fingers and he twisted it maybe 6 or 7 times til it was in the perfect position for me, and he adjusted the play before entering the friction zone for a couple of us as well.) Steve would then set up the course after going through the basics of starting and stopping and how to use your clutch and throttle together and after setting up he’d sit down with us, talk to us and give us examples of why you’re doing A vs B, not just telling you do this but actually explaining why it’s better to do it the way he’s saying. He’d then explain what we had to do as many times as needed before giving an example. He sometimes walked the course with us, he showed us the books diagram, and then did it on the bike so it was very clear. As we did the exercise there were points were we had to stop and he’d be there to offer suggestions/advice on how to improve as well as applaud you for doing well. I think confidence while riding is very important and Steve made sure to help and support us rather than chastise our mistakes and scold us for errors which was really good, I had taken a course earlier in the week and left two hours in because the instructor was ridiculously abusive verbally and the absolute opposite of what you’d anticipate from a teacher. He made sure we were all hydrated and comfortable with enough breaks in between to discuss what we found helpful, sometimes someone would say something and that helped me do better the next time so that was really great. Steve also had a lot of good stories, both about experiences while riding and how to get out of “oh ****” moments as well as just funny stuff to lighten the mood when we were getting a little nervous or tense. Slightly unrelated to the class and instructor itself was the group of people I was with, who were all very supportive and helpful as well. Whenever someone did well on an exercise we would all beep in applaud which I found funny but also reassuring because for me it helped build some extra confidence. When it was time to do the evaluation Steve broke it up into 5 parts and went very in depth about what to do, how to do it safely, and told us parameters as far as what constitutes getting points such as putting a foot down or stalling, which helped with the test taking fear a lot of us had. Out of 8 people, we all passed the test easily. The first day I brought my own full face helmet, but it gets pretty damn hot out there so i suggest a 3/4 or using one of the ones they supply you with which is what I did for day 2. The helmets aren’t in bad condition, just heavily used and they provided sanitary means such as Lysol and wipes. Some of the gloves were a little damaged but nothing excessive or in need of replacement. The only negative I would say and even this isn’t a huge deal is when you dismount and take a break the seats get hot as hell. I mean toasted buns with butter hot. A little uncomfortable for about a minute or two but easy to get over. Three of us fell during the exercises and Steve also helped us by picking up the bike and showing us methods to do so safely without hurting yourself and explaining what happens when you drop a bike in case it happens to yours. The class also offers discounts for students and military as well as a few other things. Joe was also informative and recommended a mechanic.10/10 stars, this is what a MSF class should be. Read Less
