Our son recently got his drivers license and when we called our insurance agent and discussed adding him onto our policy it was a shocker to see the rate increase. One of the best options we had for reducing the new additional costs was for myself and my wife to take a defensive driving class which has gotten us a significant reduction in our premium. We didn't know what to expect when we initially dialed into the zoom class but after about 30 minutes, we got comfortable with the agenda and the process and proceeded to review many things we had learned over the years, but also found out a lot about the changes that have occurred in the laws that have been modified to meet the changing environment in Georgia and the nation. I should add at this point that we are both 78 years old and there have been a lot of changes since we started driving. I can truly say that when we finished the class both my wife and myself, felt like we had been on a 6 hour high speed, roller coaster ride, but we both only missed one of the final test questions each. They were different questions so you know we didn't cheat. Now we have more confidence in knowing we have current knowledge of the new rules and appreciate the time we put into the effort as it will more than pay for itself over the next 3 years. I believe it would be a good idea for everyone to get a refresher course every 3 years, just to keep up with our changing world. I would highly recommend the course to anyone who would like to save some money on their auto insurance bill and more importantly, not find out the hard way what new laws have put into action to improve on the safety and security of all drivers. My experience at A-1 Driving school was great. My instructor Mr. Frank Fowler, was extremely informative on every subject covered. Mr. Fowler made it fun an interesting, in a class I thought I would dread. The experiences Mr. Fowler shared with us about safe driving, made we want to be a better driver, he offers real situations that stress the importance of safe driving. This school is awesome. Our class teacher, Mr.Fowler was an incredible and very laid-back teacher. He taught us everything thing in detail, he even added some of his own experiences to help us understand the seriousness in driving of what to do and what not to do. Taking a plea deal to a speeding offense at court, I was required to enlist in Defensive Driving Course. After careful research, I found out that the A-1 DUI & Defensive Driving School was state certified and had amazing reviews. I wasn't too excited to spend $95 for a two day course lasting 3 hours each, but I decided to give it a go. (Keep it mind you have a choice of doing 3 hour course each for two days or one time 6 hour course on weekend. Their schedule is quite flexible).Once I showed up in class, I was pleasantly surprised by the enthusiasm and humor displayed by my instructor, Darryl. He made the whole experience actually a bit enjoyable as he stressed key knowledge that was actually practical and important in or day to day driving situations. What is great is that he really interacted with all of the students. He made sure to ask questions to keep us engaged and incorporated his humor to get through the boring parts.At the end of it all, we took a 20 question quiz which the whole class passed with ease as Darryl did a great job teaching the course. After the whole ordeal, I received the copy of the certificate of completion by email the next day. The only thing that misses the mark of a 5 star review is its quite limited parking space that can make it a hassle especially when you can get locked out if you are late.
