I enrolled my child in 2021. After the class portion was over it was difficult to schedule 8 drives. My child never completed the drives during the 9 contracted months with Top Driver. You will have to pay $150 for an extended month. I was not aware of this. I tried calling, but you have to call on the 15th to see if any drives are available. The offices are always closed and it is impossible to reach someone by phone. I paid $550 and my child have to wait until he is 18 to get his drivers license. Don’t waste your money. I am disappointed with the company. Make sure your child get their permit asap (15yrs) because they have to hold it for 9 months before they can do the road test after completion of drivers education class. The Driver’s Ed class have to be completed before you can do the road test. If not your child will have to wait until they are 18!!! This is unprofessional!!! I would give zero stars because I was ignored to the very end of the 9 month contract that I wasn’t aware of.

Scheduling drives has been incredibly difficult. The portal opens and in less than 5 minutes and all slots are filled ( not many slots to begin with I presume ). I understand there is shortage of drivers. I once logged on 3 minutes after the portal opened to find out all slots are gone and I have to wait till the next month. Slots only open one month at a time. Wish I could schedule a couple of months out. I never thought getting just 6 drives in would be this difficult. There have been 2 or 3 months where I did not receive any communication when slots would be open. You have to constantly check the system or call the 800 number to find out no one picks up. There is $150 charge if you don’t complete the drives in time to get an extension. Terrible customer service ! I know talking to other parents I am not the only one with these grievances.Hope someone sees this and addresses the scheduling issue. I don’t see this company in business long otherwise.

@Naperville Top Driver - in response to your post, unfortunately I did not receive any calls in January nor was able to get through to an agent the times I tried to call. I was extended for a fee yesterday but was told all of April is not available. However, I also emailed Mr.Woods there are some drives available and I should call the number again to schedule. Please help with the issue with scheduling and I am happy to edit my review. On a positive note, the drives and classes my son was able to attend were great ! No complaints. It’s the scheduling and the customer service over the phone that is the major issue

Our experience with Naperville’s Top Driver was great. My daughter enjoyed the behind the wheels instructors at this location. (We ended up scheduling one driving lesson at a different location due to having difficulty finding available slots in Naperville, and my daughters experience was awful. She asked me to never book her elsewhere, just in Naperville.) Overall scheduling driving lessons online was pretty challenging. The lead instructor at Naperville location was always very helpful with finding solutions and answering my questions. As fas as class instruction, she did it online and we all enjoyed its flexibility.

I was so glad to have chosen Top Driver! The entire team was so professional and understood my concerns and helped me to attain the drivers license.
Aside I must say I was lucky to have John Gauss as my instructor who was very knowledgeable, patient and kept motivating me. He made sure I cleared my tests on my first attempt itself. Really felt blessed to have such an instructor. I wish the entire team all the best and off course would strongly recommend anyone!

This driving school is terrible. The people are completely clueless and they have terrible rules. I'm a student at this school and they recently charged me $40 for not bringing my actual permit. When I took the class, they told us to make copies so of course im going to bring one of the copies. No one told me that you couldn't ? I will be reporting this driving school. My driving instructors are rude and clueless. It's a pain in the ass and not worth your time. I wish I could give it 0 stars.

I have never driven a car in past so I signed up for the 12 hour driving lessons and with the help of my instructor I was able to drive confidently on busy streets (no highways, of course) within 3 classes. You are lucky if you have had classes with John Gauss. I don't think you can pre-decide who your instructor can be, but he is great for adult driving lessons.

I personally was a student here and really liked the experience! The instructors definitely go above and beyond in keeping class engaging while also giving you the skills you need to survive in a "real world" driving environment. We'd definitely recommend Top Driver to people looking for a driving school. If you're thinking of signing up, one tip I'd give is to be willing to be flexible when it comes to class times, because they often offer discounts to people taking classes during the off-season or at off-peak hours (after 6:00 PM, etc). We did that and saved almost $50 off the normal price.

My daughter broke her thumb this past Sat afternoon and had a lesson scheduled for 3 days later, on a Monday afternoon. Since the office is close on weekends, I called first thing Mon am to let them know AND faxed the Dr note that stated she broke her thumb. Was told that because I did not leave them a vm over weekend, they were charging me $40, even thought they would not get message till Monday am. Really, after all we pay for drivers ed, you have that type of customer service??? She broke her thumb!

I passed my driving test this week and could not have done it without the skills and expertise of the folks at Top Driver. Despite my age (44) I had never driven before, had never even been interested in it honestly, but booked a block of 6 lessons and was taken from the raw beginnings to driving safely on the highway. The staff were excellent, polite, easy going, knowledgeable and fun so the lessons never seemed like a drag or a chore. I was given hints and tips to help me pass at every stage and couldn't be happier with the education they gave me.Customer service was perfect - one time I had to postpone a lesson and it was rescheduled with no hassle and another time they had to reschedule by 30 mins but phoned to let me know in plenty of time in case I wanted to reschedule if the new time didn't suit.I'd highly recommend this service to anyone.

You will have to pay $150 for an extended month. I was not aware of this. I tried calling, but you have to call on the 15th to see if any drives are available. Our experience with Naperville’s Top Driver was great. My daughter enjoyed the behind the wheels instructors at this location. (We ended up scheduling one driving lesson at a different location due to having difficulty finding available slots in Naperville, and my daughters experience was awful. I have never driven a car in past so I signed up for the 12 hour driving lessons and with the help of my instructor I was able to drive confidently on busy streets (no highways, of course) within 3 classes. You are lucky if you have had classes with John Gauss. I don't think you can pre-decide who your instructor can be, but he is great for adult driving lessons.
