My brother attended this “top driver” school for 3 months, passed all the practice tests and driving lessons, and was ready for his final test. When it came time to take the test, the school failed him and EVERYONE in his class without any valid reason. After charging $550 upfront, they demanded an additional $200 just to retake the test. This is nothing short of a scam. Because of this, my brother was denied his driver’s license and now has to wait until he’s 21. This school seems to care more about taking your money than actually teaching students to drive. The final test was non-related to driving! Save yourself the time and frustration look elsewhere. Would NOT recommend. I had two drivers within two years of one another. My son took D.E. through the school with no issues. My daughter's schedule made it not possible for D.E. during the school year and the summer class filled up so fast it left us with waiting another year or going through Top Driver. I signed her up due to lack of options. CLASSES: Class would often not last the entire two hours and I would get texts from my daughter either indicating they were just sitting there or texts to pick her up early. We only missed one class, but rescheduling became an uncessary pain and due to that she did a makeup class after she'd already passed the test and gotten her certificate, so it was a waste of time for both of us. SCHEDULING: I hate their scheduling system for in-person driving. I don't know how they set it up, but if you're not on it right when dates are released (like within the hour/first few hours), you have limited options on choosing instructors. IN-PERSON DRIVING: Here is my biggest issue. The instructors they have are questionable. The first time my daughter in-person drove, I had scheduled to drop her off and pick her up from the school. I'm getting texts from my daughter while she's supposed to be driving, because apparently the instructor told her to text, due to another student not showing and the session ending early. I arrive at the school only for her not to be there. I return home and she gets dropped off at our home about five minutes later. I had a big issue with this because the instructor was supposed to take her back to the school and did not. Then requested to speak to me, waiting at the door only to tell me she did good. When I asked him why he brought her here, he shrugged it off and said they were done early. NOT OKAY. Another instructor (male) made open comments about female drivers to my daughter, in a negative light, during an in-person session. Additionally the communication and expectations that the drivers examples were heavily lacking. Finally, I asked at the beginning of the conference if the instructors had background checks, to which they said yes. While, I don't know what permimeters they allow employment, but one of the instructors I found did have a criminal records, which is public and able to be looked up. While it was not for anything related to children, it is still concerning. I would not recommend sending your kid here. Find another school or do it through the school district, far better outcome.
