I have been going to MHMR clinics for 20 plus years, I've had some small problems at different places, scheduling issues, things like that. Never have I had a problem like I did here. I went to get signed up, transferring from another clinic out of state, during the sign up process I brought my "non-narcotic" medication and showed them exactly how many days left I had, I was assured that I would see a doctor in time to refill my medication. A week goes by I call them they assure me I will have my medication filled before it runs out, 4 days till I run out of my medication I call them once again they assure me I will see a doctor, 3 days till I run out of my medication I call them again and once again I'm assured that I will see a doctor within reasonable time frame to get my medication. Weekend comes and I run out of medication, I had to get a hold of my clinic in Dallas Texas, pay out of pocket for an appointment, and pay out of pocket for the medication to be sent over to a pharmacy out here. I called the place on Monday And they tell me that I have an appointment scheduled for nearly a month out. Nobody called me to tell me that I needed to make plans because they couldn't get me in time, And when I brought it up with the management, she tried to tell me that I needed to be documenting who and when I talk to somebody. I find it hard to understand that a place that deals with mentally ill people does not document who and when they talk to and what the call is about. They do not have an in-house doctor nor an in-house therapist, they use third party services through telehealth. Which is where I believe many of the communication problems came from. I just can't believe the lack of professionalism and lack of communication for such a serious matter. The "therapist' who said she was a counselor called me at 10:15 at night on a Sunday to get me set up. I had to call three times to get my stuff canceled with them and they still had me signed up with the doctor because I received calls confirming my appointment after I had canceled with them multiple times. I have found a place that is very much like my old clinic and I'm extremely happy with it but this place is not that, I believe if you need mental health care, this place is not the place to go.
